For some reason "hipsters and ricers" love them in my area, especially the older '80s/'90s models so you can automatically group them as douchebags.
Guys in e46/e92's always try to mess with me on the road, I just ignore them.

I found that the less stock my car looked the less other cars tried messing around with me, and I expected it to be the exact opposite. They must be scurred by aftermarket body pieces yet all I have is minor bolt ons

Weird. I guess deep down they're insecure and don't want to risk defeat by a nissan

A few years ago I was driving home from where my van pool drop of point, this guy in a Porsche Carrera 4S pulls up next to me taunting me to race him, the road we were on was a 55 MPH zone with very little traffic but I just ignored him and minded my own driving. Then a few miles down the road I find he made the same turn I do and I pull up behind him at a red light, The dude starts reving his engine and at the green takes off, so do I and I stayed about 3 feet off his bumper, just toying with him and at 55 MPH I stop and he just kept going as there was a light change he ran it yellow but I saw no point.
A few seconds later I hear a noise, it's a local cop in an unmarked Crown Vic on his loud speaker telling me "If I ever see you do that again I'm going to impound your car for 30 days", I never did anything like that again.

Perhaps that is why, my car is completely stock.

A bunch of flamboyant exterior mods attracts too much attention.

I've owned both (sold the e46 to get a Z)... Wife drives an Audi Q5. The younger the crowd, the more common this is... It has nothing to do with the car. Kids will act like kids, regardless of which car they drive.

Germans actually enjoy checking out the Z, as it's a rare sight here. BMWs and Audi's are the chevy and ford of Germany.

Are these offending LCA bushings on the front? Thanks for the pointers. I'm not looking to lower much. 1 inch at the most. I think the front sits fine stock. the rear looks like a 4 runner with the 305s. The rear end squat under wot is ridiculous and results in wheelspin even with sticky rubber in 1st and 2nd.

I really want to meet up with some locals and demo their suspension before I go all in.

Yeah these are bushing for front lower control arm. what will happen is the rubber in the oem bushings with coilovers will wear and then mine cracked. When I would get on it you could feel the steering was loose and my mechanic even said it would be hard to hold alignment with worn bushings. I also found that there was a humming noise when I was on highway from the worn bushings. It is pretty amazing the difference with poly bushings.

My friend bought 2012 E92 a couple months ago, 6 speed. Yes, its quick, but for $43,000 Ive seen trucks with better interiors...so bland and boring.

The Audi television ad about the Audi driver slowing down to not spray the pedestrians walking nest to a puddle and the BMW driver plowing through the puddle and soaking them is LOL funny, and very true. What I am going to say is stereotyping and therefore not universal, but the mean (average) BMW driver is a selfish a**hole. And my wife is even more negative than I am.....good cars if a little pricey and expensive to maintain though.

i thought about getting the M3 before i got the Z. but aftermarket parts are way too expensive and parts and maintenance is also expensive. plus i did some research, and their engines like to blow up or fail....

Mine is still good and so are countless others. You must be talking about the people that beat on them. In that case, every car's engine will eventually blow up and fail.

When I'm going to show someone up, I like to drop into 1st so I can spin the tires before traction control kicks in and I bounce off the rev limiter a few times before I kill it and roll onto the shoulder with the hazards on all while laughing.

M3's can't touch me.
