My car talks to me...
I've been looking at 2014 Stingrays, and I've driven several of them in the past two months. I've been driving my '08 Touring Coupe on my trips to dealers around where I live, so the Z knows I'm looking.
Well, yesterday I came pretty close to a deal on a limerock green Z51 3LT coupe, a VERY nice car btw. The dealership guys even looked the Z over pretty well as a possible trade-in. I told them I'd let them know in the morning.
The Z is very forgiving of all this. When I got back in, she said to me, "That b***h got nothing on me when it comes to having fun. Let's GO!"
She was right, of course. I called them this morning and told them I wouldn't be buying the Stingray.

With the 5AT, 3000rpms gives you 90 mph. GA has a nasty 85mph super-speeder law that will ruin your day, ergo.....
And then there's the fact that my DD is a Silverado pickup. Compared to that, the Z is like a gokart. Going 45 feels like 65 for the first half hour of driving, so I can get a lot of thrills without really going fast.
Lastly, I retired twenty-two years ago, so I rarely get in a hurry any more.

I like the Limerock green....but most people don't. Its the color i'd get. What kills me on the Stingrays is the wheel gap. Something about the stance of the new vette is just off. Its a great car. My thing is If I drop 60 large on a new car I don't want to tinker with it for at least a few years and the wheel gap wuld make me lower it. Is the suspension adjustable on the new vettes. Why the huge wheel gap?

clif notes... he looked at a vette and was ready to buy, he got in his Z to go home and he realized how much he loved his car and enjoyed driving it and backed out on the vette
