im moving back to Maryland and if the snow is anything like last year im going to have to pick up something AWD. ive always liked evos and have heard good things about them. I know a lot of people on here have owned evo's, and I don't feel like a 15 minute test drive is really an accurate feel for a car. I know in the z I feel pretty connected to the road unlike other cars where you feel like your floating and cant really get a good feel for the car. I like the feeling of the z, any comparisons from a previous owners perspective?
EDIT: I wouldn't be getting rid of the z it would stay my daily driver.

Just get a civic as a beater.
Selling the z now would be like shooting yourself in the foot. Not worth as much as spring or summer.
The evo is not the best car reliability wise or maintenance.

I own both, never been in snow though. Can't really compare the two, apples to oranges. Cornering feel, the z is less obedient but more fun. The evo is like a precision surgical scalpel and the z is more of a machete or butcher's blade.
I own both as well and have been in the snow with the X. If you live somewhere with deep snow an SUV is a better solution than the X, but the X is gives a definite calm when the temp has fallen 13 degrees to 28 while you have been inside at work and then begins to rain. Jump in the car and go home. Good all season tires with good tread for snow are still a must.
The Z is bulletproof compared to the reliability of the X in my opinion. The Z is brings a smile to my face faster than the X to drive, but the X is no doubt faster stock or near stock. I have often contemplated trading my X for a 370Z as we have a SUV beater as well, but then the weather will change and in my X very little driving enjoyment is lost. If you can get both, its pretty cool.

I haven't owned a X but i did own a 11 Ralliart and it did great in the snow with all season tires. Just be cautious Evo's are not cheap to own or repair! Just buy a beater with snow tires and you will be fine.

Thanks for the help guys. what ive gathered from this is evos are not as fun as z's but faster, they are constantly breaking, but they are pretty good in the snow. lol in all seriousness though ill probably just get a beater.
$700 beater and a set of winter tires on the Z just in case you are caught out in a storm. Had winter tires for the last 4 winters and my beater for the past 2 and it has worked perfectly for me.
I used to have two cars and would leave the Z parked during the winter. A couple of years ago I brought Blizzack snow tires for the Z and the Z actually drives and handles better than my front wheel drive car I had in the snow. The Z with Snow tires is ok in the snow..just drive with common sense...I live in Northern NJ.
To be honest, both the Z and X should not be driven in the snow, period. For those of you have not live in the snow climate region, let put it this way. Snow and salt is like a living cancer eating away all the metal body parts, nuts and bolts, and exhaust like you would never imagine The extreme cold freeze all the rubber bushing which make them cracks and eventually lead to premature fail, and that includes the tires. The list goes on and on. Both the Z and the X are high performance cars, with the cold and the snow would definitely ruin the purpose of it. So I never had or never will drive my 350Z in the winter with snow.
