This probably has been brought up before, but I think it would be really kewl if this website had a chatroom area where we could gather and just talk about stuff and get real time responses. JMan... any plans for this?

 

I could try to set one up at the IRC, #my350z ? With your permission, of course. I don't think it'd cost a thing.

IMO most website chatrooms suck anyway. IRC would be a much better idea considering that's exactly the purpose it's designed to serve. The room name is a given, the network it's on is what would have to be decided.

 

i remember a while back...i think last year around this same time there was a chat room on the home page of my350z.com.

They had one on here for awhile and NO ONE used it. You would go in there and there would be like 15 people and no one chatting.

Yep, for the most part, you could go into the old chatroom at any given time of day and there would be nobody else there. I think everyone would do the same basic thing. They'd come in, see nobody there, then leave.

 

I dont think it is worth the time or effort to upkeep it

 

chats are cool. motoring's got one and there would be 10 peeps at a time. Just gotta post a thread called 'chat' or something, once in awhile.

 

i'm down for a chat room.

 

Might even suggest several times for interest, as a navigation type tool, so people could even plan on it and be looking forward, vs just hoping. I.e. topics discussions, open discussions, etc. With some times set, planning would be simpler for many. Only a suggestion.

Anyways, there was a chat room and I often visit. Failsafe and I once duked it out in a chatroom. Personally I hated the chatroom on this fourm cause it was so hard to keep track of everyone's conversation. Shortly after that, the chatroom was removed. Oh well.

So the answer is, yes, its already been done but its been undone.

 

Been there, done that, and it sucked.
