To the above posts....
I couldn't agree more.
Private Classifieds have died a lot in the past few years.
General section posts are for the most part, worthless.
The stance/slammed thing has gotten really crazy in the past few years, not just with 350Zs, but with damn near everything. I don't understand it, you sacrifice so much use-ability with eye candy mods like that. Not much I hate seeing more than a Z33 throwing sparks off the exhaust piping when cruising down a nearly level freeway.
Still though, I haven't given up on this Z community. There are still some quality posts and tons of information to be had on here. Especially for the Do-It-Yourself types.
On the bright side of things, the "ghetto" burger flipper Zs will not last long. Many will probably wind up wrapped around a guard rail or tree. Or simply break down due to abuse and poor maintenance. The more pure specimens will be left to survive (maybe). It's sad, but I think we are slowly seeing a repeat of the Z32's life story.

Misson accomplished...
May I suggest the website starts charging for membership...nothing crazy...$40/year or charge people initially for a screen name. I think this will weed out the lion-share of newbs that shouldnt be here...I pay a subscription on HPA and I think that weeds out 'low-rent' clientele...
Is there anyway we can establish a reputation system? I wish there was some way to regulate how many post you could put up in one day...have it linked to a 'reputation' scale where if you have a good reputation you can post unlimited versus a newb/uninformed/unwillingness to search/research, or someone with a bad reputation where you get 1 post per week.

For the most part, it does me no good to lament about the younger crew that knows very little if anything about what a good car is supposed to be. There are so many brand ****** and fake enthusiasts out there.
I simply walk out to my garage, take a long look at my Z that's well taken care of, and smile about the good times I've had with the car. I also feel satisfied with how the car responds to me and my driving techniques. I don't care what others think when they try to be negative about my car. I do appreciate the input from other enthusiasts that know quite a bit about cars.
I'll admit that I'm no encyclopedia of car knowledge, but I don't need to be. I'm not that kind of person. I will appreciate the good efforts of enthusiasts that I hang out with and contribute when I can. I know I'm good for something.
As I was washing my Z today, I told my youngest son about how cool it would be for me to give him the car when he graduates from HS because by then the Z33 will be considered a classic (I hope). He was pretty excited about the conversation which made us both laugh and smile.
Those are the intangible things the younger generation doesn't realize. They're into instant gratification and bragging rights. They thrive on trolling and being that tough keyboard warrior or internet samurai. It's pathetic. And the worst is when they get that gang mentality and congregate among themselves.
Part of the attraction of being a car enthusiast is being part of a group of great people who come from different walks of life and have something useful or positive to bring to the table (or party). I've made a lot of awesome friends through online interaction and eventually meeting them at events. It's not always about the car or cars, but that's okay.

It's still a great car, sad to see some get destroyed , great to see others get nice builds , great to see more people tracking them.

I haven't been here very long, but have seen a shift by some regarding respect for the z as well as others intelligence. The search fx could be better but even then some people want solutions handed to them without lifting a finger. Some folk do not grasp the idea that once upon a time valuable info was either only on paper or between someones ears. I would respect the h3ll out of someone who'sworked hard, smart and would help me.
Some would argue that this is the natural result of the dumbing down of society, which is pretty scary. We might factor that in DK, lower expectations and take the good with the bad.

I think this thread should be stickied and every new member should have to read that first post during signup.
I admit that when I first joined the forum I asked a few dumb questions, nothing like these but maybe some questions that I could have found with more research. However, I ALWAYS researched before posting, whether it was a little bit or a lot.
I just think a lot of these noobs just don't care and they just join this forum and WANT WANT WANT! This is a community, and to just join and expect people that have put a lot of time and effort into this forum and community to just give them every answer is absurd.
Of course as a member of this forum there is a certain expectation that the members with more experience can help the less experienced. But more recently it has gone well beyond that. Questions that are basically opinion-based or farfetched, as dk said in the OP, "how can I get 600hp with 5k?" That is literally a retarded question. Unfortunately when people post dumb threads like that, they get a lot of attention, which takes away from the actual good threads of people that really do need help or having something great to offer to the people of this forum.
It really is a shame and sometimes makes me embarrassed to be a Z owners knowing how many other Z owners act like this.
