Default 353hp N/A?

I am looking at a craigslist listing to purchase my second 350z, this would be just a project car that I would mostly use for autocross and track days. The post claims it has a built motor and the ecu has been dynotuned for 353hp and 325 tq. I will text him and ask for the dyno sheet, but last time I checked a z would probably never make that N/A.

It's been done maybe once, with a very expensive build. Chances are this is not it, I can't see the post at work. However, he could be referring to the crank. Taking in a 18% loss that put's it as 289 whp, and 266tq. Is it an 07-08 (HR) then that seems pretty accurate.

Exactly, and he stated it was only bottom end build which if im not mistaken usually does not add power.

If it comes back as actually having the claimed power I will personally message you and we can arrange something. Also I need one of my motorcycles to sell tonight before I make any plans.

What motorcycle?

Also, I know you don't give crank numbers when saying dyno tuned, but maybe this guy was confused? I was just pointing out possibilities.

I think he's trying to mislead a newb...

GC, if he was at 253, then he wouldnt be at 325wt...

He didnt clarify bc there is no dyno with this car, this motor, on this ECU...something is sketch

things dont work out pricewise IMO, a clean title'd, forged/built block, car making 350+ whp would be way more that $5.5k

He's hiding something with his 'ECU has been dyno tuned...' statement

sounds like the ECU is from a mildly built FI car and reinstalled in this car...

I know, I was hoping he was not trying to get someone to buy the car as it is by telling them what it made. Especially on a built motor N/A car if I had to guess he had it boosted at one point and made 353 and kept the dyno sheet. I am going to have to pass on this z due to the fact the trans is out and it needs work, if anyone is interested he said he would take 3500 if you take it soon.

if he was in colorado I would buy it assuming the block was built! you can put a new transmission in the car for $1000!

I mean you have someone in here that already said they live nearby, I would jump on it and put the money and work into it but I still have one z project going on right now. I just wanted a cheap z I could daily till my first z comes back so I dont have to ride a motorcycle in the rain everyday in this houston weather. Then I planned to use it as a for fun car so I dont wreck a car I have money in.

I appreciate it, I got plenty of stuff needing fixed in my life, but it'd be sweet to pick one up to drop an LS in...I looked at 350s on craigslist in the Dallas area and damn nissan did a good job selling them down there...I craigslist'd them up here and the least expensive is around $7k...

The highest I have seen posted here was 400whp but that was a very expensive build (cams, itb's, 3.7L crank etc).

Honestly, I dont see anyone making close to that power w/o itb's IMO.

I think your 0% estimate is a bit conservative... i'd probably lean closer toward 50% and factor in 10-25% more if their trying to sell what their talking about.
This goes for all things HP, Watts, money, women, peen size, etc ....

Didn't you have a TT build in the works? Whatever happened to that?
