How does an entire engine get stolen? Was the vehicle parked in an unlocked shop? This isn't something that can be done in less than 5 minutes like CAT thefts. Also the 2nd pic clearly shows an engine under the hood and what appears to be the interior gutted with speaker wiring hanging out (looks like this guy does real clean work).
I also thought the VIN check line in the description was good. "custom ordered base model with every performance upgrade they offered (except for brembo brakes...)." I guess that's just a fancy way of saying it's simply a base model. I don't believe the base models allowed you to upgrade/add items such as the Homelink Mirror System, Cruise Control, LSD, Leather Seats, Bose Stereo, Satellite Radio, heck or even the rear hatch spoiler/lip.
That Z looks surprisingly clean for a red one (paint not faded/peeling). I would pick it up as a mechanic's special. Engine swap is easy. I'm guessing the timing let go...just a guess.

Nothing gives me more confidence in a used vehicle when I see a staple gun and painter's caulk "staged" in the driver's seat.
What an affliction I have. I scrolled up from the bottom and saw the interior first. "That ain't no 33, that there is a 32." Oy, I gotta get away from cars for a while. I do miss my 32. Fun little car with the top off (and the car's too.) Snort.
