Default Cams for 04 350 Z

Good day all looking for recommendations. First off I have had a lot of work performed on my z and believe it or not after 2000 mile I have major issues with the build. The car is currently in the shop and have new pistons, shortblock, pistons and a lot of machine work done on the heads. I am pursuing reimbursement from the original shop, and we will leave their name out of this until I see if they will comp something back.

So with all ofg this I am looking for a good HP cam tpo put in the car, A friend told me tomei 272, and one have experiance with these and if so how happy were they with the mod?

Thanks

What are your goals for the car? I have Tomei 264s in my 2003. With a 3.5" intake, Kinetix v+ and shorty headers and all the other usual mods, I'm at 307hp on a Dynapack. Power peaks at about 6700 and doesn't lose much more than 10hp til 7300. This is on a stock bottom end.

this is what has been previously done to the car.
Stage 4 clutch
rebuild lower end
Cosworth Plenum
Ported polish head
JWT c2 cams
Vortech SC
Greddy 70 mm exhaust
Akebono 14 in big brake kit
Advan RS Rims, (9"frt, 10"rear)
leather
seats 2 tone upgraded leather package
to much more to list

Currently it is getting a new block and and crank, I am going from 11 -1 compression to 10 -1, will be a little loss of power so looking to offset power loss with the cams, ( plus I do like the sound of a cammed car) I could turn up the boost a little on the sc but prefer to keep it where it is at.

So bottom like is looking for moere power would like to be above 560rwhp

1. Part your motor out for $$$
2. Buy an LS3 (out of a gto)
3. Get some high duration cams (since you like "the sound")
4. Call it a day

You will have 450 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque RELIABLY.....

which seems to be missing from the equation that yoi have posted not to mention weither or not your motor is studded, sleeved, and unless you have funds your gonna need it to chase that 500+Hp number. You probably are running a 7 lb pulley and to get more power you would need to make more boost and your motor is already having issues , which by the way doesn't seem to be your fault but your "shop" fault and I'm willing to bet money that the machining work on the block was sent out to be done at Julio's quick and dirty machine shop.

And just a heads up , just because you took it to another shop doesn't mean you haven't falling into another trap

Word of advice search the my350z page and you will find ppl in your area that have knowledge of a reputable shop or at least a step in the right direction

Not trying to scold you , but warn you and try and keep you from spending more of your money on something that's isn't gonna give you what you want.
