Unhappy I think I blew my motor today!!!

After being annoyed and not being able to find a good local tune shop near me. I've basically built my self the most expensive and slowest NA Z in the world.

After monitoring logs and seeing my AFR is actually decent with my current set up. I've been driving it to work to 1 move all the fluids, 2, charge my battery and 3 enjoy my dam car.

Today on the way home I was driving normally, 50 MPH in 5th gear at around 3k RPM.

And I start hearing a thud/thapping sound coming from the engine area of the car! I didn't run over a bag, there wasn't anything on the road.

So I let off and coast and it's still there thapping slowly. I get ok the throttle and it's fine then as I get around 50 again it starts up again.

I figured dam I pushed my luck and didn't even get to run this car turbo lol

Finally get home and don't even want to look I lift the car. I'm looking at wires and anything in the front to be flapping, nothing. I look to see if any oil or anything terrible has gone wrong. I look at the turbo....

And wouldn't you know....

The splash guard near the turbo under the pass seat broke off and is flapping on the ground as it catches wind while I drive.

My heart sank but at the same time was relieved.

Anyways, HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13th Z fam! Hope y'all have a safe and good weekend!

Oh and happy b-day to all you sailors out there.

You definitely lightened my mood, my heart was sinking further and further until I read it was just the splash guard lol. Then I was relieved for u.

So what will be your route for finally getting the tune resolved on the Z?

As for right now probably just run NA with the air filter on the end of my IC until I can find a local shop who can do this for me. I've been dragging my feet due to some bills all clustering up and a few more to come + the holidays. December time of year isn't a fun season for me.

But sooner or later I'm going to find a tune shop and get this tuned hopefully to around 400.

And who is Saul?

I am insulted OP...

MY NA Z33 is the most expensive and slowest ever.

Motor blew in under 500 miles, cats totally blown out by all the smoke, new seats because the stock ones were apparently attacked by a bear, plenum spacer yielding the need for a new strut bar, tires so dry rotted they looked like Clint Eastwood's face, headlights foggier than Lindsay Lohan's memory, BOTH exterior door handles, a complete overhaul of the convertible top...

You may have a heap of trash, but I have a polished turd!

So Project Import couldn't figure out your issues?

Didn't end up taking it to them.

There is no vacume leak. It's a tune issue. It idles and runs fine NA. It's rich like hell but it runs.

But the second you inteoduce the turbo it runs pig rich still then leans out because the turbo starts spoiling around 2,500 rpm.

It almost sounds like full boost close to 3,500.. I'm not going to pay them $60 for a smoke test when there isn't signs of a leak. I'd like to but it just seems like a quick way to waste $50.
