Hi Everyone,

I am currently running an open PCV system. Breathers on both PCV valves and high temp silicone plugs on the ports of the valve cover and intake tube. Now the issue:

When I near 5k+ RPM in 4th and 5th gear on the race track, I start to smoke a good amount. This only happens in gears 4 & 5 as I near redline.

Anyone have any input to what is going on here? I do overfill a bit since I have a larger oil pan, but this happens even as my oil levels drop a bit. The flaggers black flag me once in a while which can throw off the flow of my session

 

Smoke from where?

 

Hard to tell exactly, but I am fairly certain it is the engine bay since I get the smoke in my cabin.

The PCV hose out the back of my valve cover with the breather on it is routed right over my headers.

 

Change to a catch can system. Breathers will smoke

 

Are we talking about during a corner load or not ?

 

More profound during high speed corner load (>100mph like turn 7 & 8 and Willow Springs International).

It wasn't smoking to much this past weekend and is dripping oil down my driver side, where I have the rear PCV valve hose with breather routed to.
