2003 350z exhaust
So i decided that i wanted a louder exhaust note and i went to a muffler shop and took out the muffler and resonator. I immediately felt a power loss but i had already gotten rid of the parts. If i buy a used muffler and resonator, will i get the power back?
believe it or not, there is R&D that goes into an exhaust system (hard to believe I know). Mess with it by cutting into the OEM exhaust here and there can produce noise. but like i've always said, noise doesn't mean faster. source an OEM exhaust for cheap or get some replica exhaust off ebay. so sad to see all these Zs turn into loud obnoxious hot boys.

Don't know where you are in CA but right here in SF Bay CL there's two stock exhaust systems, a Magnaflow full system, and there was an S-Tune (aft of Y-pipe) system up for grabs. Hundred bucks stock, $3-400 Magnaflow and S-Tune, well, anybody who pays the $700 he's asking is nuts or stupid.
But yes, please cork up the exhaust. There's a totally obnoxious guy in my neck of the woods in a completely uncorked G35. Man, does he sound stupid, especially when he hoons it on down the road, like he's impressing anyone. UGGGGHHHH.

Being in California I don't think you would be able to keep the stock resonator and do a muffler delete without possibly being pulled over. That's a good "cheaper" way to raise the exhaust note a slight amount without it being loud.
Bet that sounds like turd. Should of just removed muffler
