Default 350Z Registry and Production Numbers USA + Canada

Hi,

I run a website called GTR-Registry.com which originally contained the production information of Nissan Skylines and Nissan GT-Rs. I've since expanded to include other Nissan sports cars such as the Nissan Silvia and Z32 300ZX. For the past 21 months I've been working on and off on a small project to document the production information of the Z33 350Z which I've now completed for USA and Canada. As far as I'm aware this hasn't been done before except for the Nismo 350Z?

Here you can find informations such as the VIN, model code, production date, color, interior color and factory options of 173,924 350Z built for USA and Canada. From this data I have produced extensive production number figures for all types and model years of the 350Z and they can be broken down to see the number of specific colors, transmissions and interior colors as well.

All data can be cross referenced using the Filter drop down boxes and the search functions. Please note that the tables (especially the coupe) load a little slow due to the sheer large number of cars in the tables.

The landing page for the 350Z is http://gtr-registry.com/en-nissan-350z-z33.php
The page for the Coupe is http://gtr-registry.com/en-350z-z33-...nada-coupe.php
The page for the Roadster is http://gtr-registry.com/en-350z-z33-...a-roadster.php

There's also information on VIN ranges and model code breakdowns.

A couple of notes about the data:
Because of the way the colors are programmed in the database, I can't assign multiple colors to a single code. So for example, WV2 will show as Sparkling Silver because that's what it is called in the R34 range which was added first.
There are 7 cars with no records. I have defaulted them to USA.
There are 5 prototype Nismos which I have listed into their own Type field. Normally I wouldn't do this but I can see that the Nismo owners already have their build numbers so I wanted to separate them out to avoid any confusion.
I can only obtain the data by actually finding the VIN and collecting the information about it. I don't have a magical list (unfortunately) from Nissan which lists all of the VINs for me. That means it's possible that there may be additional cars out there. I have run my VIN finder quite extensively to try and find every possible VIN.
If there is anything missing or you think should be changed, please let me know. I'm not an expert in 350Zs and I've had to research everything on there.

Question: Is the 35th Anniversary available with and without the Rev up engine? If so I will need to adjust a few comments slightly.

Hopefully this information is useful to you. I've spent a serious amount of time doing this (and the 350Z was the most difficult and challenging and nearly killed me lol) simply as an enthusiast of all Nissan sports cars for no financial gain at all. There's also a ton of other stuff on the website (currently records of 1,645,652 cars and more to come) and all the Skyline and GT-R pages are also available in Japanese.

Regards,

Mark

Well, hot dam, my Z is only one of 1,731 built. Take that Nismos, my car's nearly as rare as you! Never mind that that's 1,731 Chrome Silver '03 Zs.....

Good job, Mark, that took a LOT of effort. Hope you didn't hand enter all that data. Haha.

The registry is accurate for my car as well. There is an amazing amount of info there. The Z community has needed this registry for years. Thanks for all your work.

In answer to your question about 35AE: Autos were non-RevUp, Manuals were RevUp (and were a mid-year introduction).

And I knew my Amber (2005 Track model) was a rare bird - 1 of 9 built. Not that I was ever planning on getting rid of her!

Great, thanks. I've adjusted the engine on the text slightly. Also confirmed that all autos are non Rev Up and all manuals are RevUp. Should be 21,863 350Z built for USA with RevUp engine.

Rare indeed

Nah I've made a few scripts to automate things. But it still takes a long time to get the information together and usable for the website. Just collecting the correct checksum VINs took more than a month running 24 hours/day.

Hey,

Never heard of it until you mentioned it but now I've had a look at their website. It's not really the same thing at all I don't think. I have listed all of the VINs with their production data, and then worked out the factory options, types etc and from that all of the build numbers of each type. That site it seems like you enter a VIN and some information about it. On the GT-R side there is a somewhat similar thing in that owners can submit photos of their car and information about it, and it links back to the VIN table. So for example if you go here and change Pic to Yes on the table you can see cars have pics. I don't want the site to be used to record damaged cars, mileage etc. I personally maintain a bit of history about some of the most important GT-Rs such as the Z-Tune, 400R and S-Tune for example. I don't want users of non GT-Rs to be able to do this, sorry (I have to maintain the forum where the photos go and manually link the photo and thread to the VIN table which is time consuming).

Very awesome! I'm blown away at the amount of data you've compiled in one place. What's your confidence level in terms of "completeness" of the data?

Hi, Thanks. 99.9% or higher, for USA + Canada. I like to put a disclaimer in, just in case... Be assured I take the upmost pride in having absolutely everything on the website as 100% accurate as possible.

There are 453 Grand Touring coupes in Canada, of which there are 132 of the year 2007. Of these there are only 6 bw5 (San Marino blue), mine is one.
Thanks for all your work, 9TR.

Great post. I knew they didn't make very many 2006 Interlagos Fire roadsters since I've never seen one other than mine, now I know just how many!
Thanks.
