I was planning on getting the Modas in a 19". but the wheels Zilla shows are very nice, I have also considered the G35 coupe 18s, I like them more than the Z wheels

SSR Competitions all the way. 18X9's weigh under 17lbs and cost about $460 per wheel from Tirerack:

Wow, check out those wheels. You gonna get a pink fluffy interior and bright green suit also!

the competitions are not my style but for the price you cant really beat it. i've heard some bad things in regards to there durability though, easily bent lipwise and overall sturdiness not very good. Speed Star Racing has been around a good while but i think the quality of their wheels has gone down over teh yrs. I will mostly likely try to get some Volks, not sure which ones, hopefully a good deal on some used ones.

If all you are going to do is scream 'rice' every time someone talks about a mod or wheels that you don't agree with, do us (or at least me) a favor and don't. We'll already just assume you're going to make some half-witted rice comment and leave it at that.

Thanks.

thanks.

I originally ordered CS touring, but when my order kept getting bumped back, I found a PPW track version for sale at MSRP and I jumped on it I'm very glad I did. Not only don't I have to deal with the crappy Bose system, but I love the Rays and Brembos. The PPW is gorgeous, especially at golden hour and at night. The pearl is just right, and the color is more bright than the muddy Z32 white pearl. Everyone who sees it comments on how beautiful the paint is. I'm glad I ended up with the PPW and track version.

What can I say, I'd really like the Rays. The Moda R6s in 18x8 are 27 lbs. The stock 18s are 26.5. No difference as far as I'm concerned.

The SSR Comps are *** UGLY IMO and not worth the price even for the weight savings. I'm looking for a wheel within 1-2 lbs. stock weight and would obviously take a lighter wheel as long as it looks decent. I also don't want to spend an ***-load of money to get there either. My wheel/tire budget is capped at $2000. I'd rather spend money on real, go-fast parts... the wife has heard about the supercharger rumor and is already making "no way" faces.

I had the Competitions on my MR2 Spyder. Never had a problem with over 15,000 street miles and at least 2500 track miles. The only people I saw having problems were idiots running "rubber band" aspect ratio tires on them. Still, the TE37's are nice, but not only do you have to spend 2000-2500 on the wheels, but then you also have to spend another $360 on center caps!!

It's not as quiet as my wife's Audi A6, but it's much quieter than my Z06 (which I just sold, by the way). No rattles. The most that you hear is road noise from the tires. This is what I would consider a very quiet, refined sports car at freeway speeds. The best of both worlds, really.

I think another poster said it best; "The Z is just one of those rare cars that doesn't look better with aftermarket wheels just like a Ferrari." IMHO, I have not seen a better looking wheel yet than the Rays. I also don't think the SSR's are the prettiest wheel, but a great track wheel none the less.

Great observation. I think the same goes for many Porsches...I've seen some absolutely gorgeous stock wheels on 911s that only a fool would replace.

I don't think there will be a better looking wheel for the Z than the Rays.

I think those SSR Competitions would look really hot on a Black 350Z. However, I think you definitely have to get rid of those stickers... Now I kinda wish I went with the Enthusiast model and dropped those SSR 18's on em... Raceboy... those are polished lips on the SSR's right?

Default Wheels

I agree with the comments on the Z is one of those cars the stock wheels look best on. I like the 17" 7 spokes on my Touring AT and so do a lot of the people who have talked to me about the car. I was really surprised at how good they looked. I like the RAYS but I am not a fan of 6 spoke wheels on any car. The 17s are asymetrical and so is the interior of the Z. Different seats, door pulls, the 3 central gauges and other little things I like around the cabin. Now that I think about it, I have never owned a car with 6 spoke wheels.?
