To cut a good mask you should really be at 100% zoom. I'm not sure if it works different on PCs (I use a Mac) but when I am masking with the lasso all I do is move the cursor off the canvas and the picture automatically scrolls to reveal more image. Let me know if this works for you...

Then you can continue with the lasso where you left off??

Thanks I'll give it a try.

Yes, mine looks like flat red paint and there are a few reasons for that. There is not a problem with the pictures. The reason we are having a problem with changing to red is because the car started out as silver (grey, neutral, whatever.). In order to get the deep red color the car really is you have to start modifying the lighter and darker colors on the car. Most of the "shine" is controlled by the whites and blacks. I too started with pictures like the other ones posted but I was dissapointed in the light color when compared to Nissans official Redline picture. You can regain some of the shinyness by running a sharpening filter but you can only go so far before it gets distorted. I attempted some lighting filters with mixed results. Overall I chose to try to match the color rather than the shine, it seems others chose shine over color. Its nice to see both. Any tips on making the car shinyer are welcomed. I am always looking to learn more photoshop tricks.

Anyone looking to make a better picture should use one of "scafremon's" blue pictures.
