i got pics coming of our meeting...i was in a racing mood today....just got back in.

Me and some guys i know meet up and raced on private property.

Here are the list of cars i beat.

silghtly modded 2000 firebird Ws6 very close race but i got off the line better and nosed out.

1999 Camaro SS beat him by 2 car lengths.

1989 mustang 50 lots of modds...but I whiped him by 6 cars.

late model camaro LT1 I beat him stock but lost when he used his 150 shot nitros.

Automatic 1998 Vette...Won by 2 cars...I was told the 6 spd would beat me but...he wasnt a 6 spd

Audi TT blew his doors off

Honda S2000 beat him by about 2 cars. ( its hard to gess how many cars since i just glanced out the side mirror.)

FYI the 350z seems alot faster than the mags.

Note: Everyone thought the Z was gonna be a slow poke and was completly amazed that I beat em...so was I.

Lost to a Z06, 2- 600cc sport bikes (very cool to see them race by the way), a riced out fast and furious mitusbishi eclipse, a ford fairlane Sweet hot rod, and a camero LT1 that sounded like a pro street dragster.

I think I got this racing out of my system...just had to know where my 350z stood with the local street racers and they were more than happy to go to a place were cops were not a issue.

I think im pulling mid high 13's ...i need to got to Ennis motor speedway..and find out...I know this isnt a Drag racing car...but I dont believe the magazines and my curiosity is killing me. Also I would like to get a base line before I mod it...Dynos are nice but ET's are what count.

 

Dayumm, pretty impressive. What kind of break in did you do to the car to get it to perform that way? How many miles?

 

i gradually increased the rpms after 500 miles. Then at 1000 I took it too 5000rpm then at at 1200 miles i gave it a couple good runs.

I didnt want my car to learn bad habits...and it seems to wanna run. i wanna race another 350z to see if its me driving or just the car is faster than we all thought.

I shift at 6250 like I saw on the dyno reports thats where it peaks at according to raceboys chart.

I dont go all the way to red line since it will cut off and you'll lose.

I do a launch at 2000-2500 Rmps...anything above that you get zero traction.

Thats it.

FYI the car loves cold air... there is a big difference in running it during the day. its been 65 degrees at night so..I think its responding well to cooler air.

I think i'll get the pop charger..I think my car wants more air.

I like to get someone in the passenger seat with a video camera next time I get the race bug in me.

the ages of drivers ranged from 20-35 my guess I didnt ask. It could be they all suck at drving sticks and I shift better..LOL some times 2nd gear doesnt allow my speed shift and fear of grinding stops me from forcing it.

OR the 350z is faster than what we thought since the generall thinking was that a stock camaro SS/firebird Ws6 would beat it.

I gave em plenty of chances and the guys were so pissed they switched drivers with the same result of me winning.

My poor tires...I cant wait to make some extra cash and buy some slicks for it. Ya know just incase I get the race bug again.

My hole shot has been better than all the cars I have ran against and the Z just maintains the lead after that. I did a couple runs from a roll with the SS and the Ws6 and it was neck and neck, from a stop I got my advantage there.

Another FYI I hesitate from telling in fear of backlash ...saying how irrespondsible it is and blah blah blah.

But I decided to say anyway. On I-35 sunday morning around 4:30am I drove my car from 635/1-35 to I-35 in Lewisville where I live at the fastest reported Time on here.

Heres the story. I meet up with a friend in dallas who has a 300zx TT we were just bsing and I took him for a ride...(he was impressed and said hes gonna go buy one.)

Anyway..i was driving home on 635 when a corvette and 2 sport bikes blew past me at high speed. I was Like damn I gotta check that out...so I stomped on it. The corvette went straight on 635 and the bikes went north on 1- 35 at about 80mph. I pulled up to them and stomped on it...They looked at me and was like what the hell that car cant hang... so they hit it...Needless to say they went up on me about 4 car lengths...but at 130mph...I caught up Then at 140 they were side by side. They just were nailing it and their front tires were off the ground about 6 inches..It looks so cool. The Z felt like it was doing 80mph...I had to shift out of 5th because it ran out of juice and it was all 6th gear at 5500- 6000 rpm....I then hit about 153 according to digital display...and I was like holy crap...These guys on these bikes are suicidal so I started to slow down. My heart was beating so fast it felt like it was gonna pop out of my chest my hands were shaking and all i was thinking about is some cop probably saw us and is waiting for me to slow down so he can catch up and take my butt to jail.

Needles to say i made it to my apt in record time. fastest i ever went in any car. The performance of the Z and the way it felt amazed me. The car had zero vibration and huged the street. The redline was pretty close in sixth...so I can see why the Mags got 155 as top speed. Even though I was at 156 i felt like they car had enough to make it to 160 destroying the Mags top speed.

The sport bikers slowed down too and gave me thumbs up and peace signs...Their eyes where wide open so it looks like they were crapping bricks too.

Again...I claim temporary insanity and I dont want anyone to ***** me out...I know it was stupid but there were no cars on the road...and I didnt realize I was going that fast until it was way too late...I was actually watching the sport bikes instead of keeping a EYE on the speedo, which was only for a couple seconds. By the time i looked at the speedo it said 130 and I said well...screw it...If im going to jail...its too late now...might as well shift to 6th and see whats left.

That is the last time I'm gonna run the car at that velocity knock on wood. i do value my life... Apparnetly the bikers...dont care because If i would have swerved in either direction I would have killed them both.

I guess you guys haven't heard about the Viper, Vette, and Supra owners that meet up really late at night when DPS shuts down and do top speed runs up and down George Bush eh?

Go to the Kills section of corvetteforum.com and they usually post "meets" at the last minute.

And what was the top end speed at the end of the race...
Im just guessing about a 1/4 mile.

The strip was like a mile or less long...These racing guys have it all marked off.. it was by the eight mile drag strip in Denton TX.

I guess it was like a quater mile you just stopped when you had to kind of thing...

I think i was hitting 100-110 or around that.

It was cool the other cars with us blocked all the entrances...and there was a car at the very end that flashed his headlights 3 times too signal us to go.

They also said they go race at the eight mile drag strip in denton on thursday and friday nights...Its weird in lewisville and denton TX there are large groups of guys that hang out in parking lots waiting for people to race em...LOL


(JDZ it was 4:30 am I think we may have passed one car...boy I think i went from dallas to lewisville in like 5 min at that speed. Yeah it was crazy I dont know what got up my *** this weekend...I was like man this is the stuff I used to do when I was 18...now im 29...I guess it was just flash backs or something)
