Talking Upcoming road trip to Vegas!

Well, the wife and I leave next Saturday morning for a week-long 30th anniverary trip to a resort in Las Vegas! First time in 25 years we've had a week with NO KIDS (we have four boys)!!

It's about 580 miles from Albuquerque, but I'll do some driving in CA/NV (gotta go to Death Valley; scene of our honeymoon back in 1974...) so I'll probably put on 2-3,000 miles.

First big road trip for my '03 Track (I'm 2nd owner) and I just fitted Yokohama AVS ES100 tires F/R. If anyone's interested in these tires I'll let you know how they work out.

I thought about making a run up to NV hwy 318, site of the mid-May "Silver State Classic," but if you get a speeding ticket in the 90 days prior to the SSC you can't enter, so I figure the NV State Police are patrolling it, and I don't want a $600 speeding ticket!

By the way, has anyone ever driven the Silver State Classic? I'm thinking May of '05...

I'll let you know how the trip goes, and I promise to have fun! Even at my advanced age...

That's going to be an awesome trip!

I did one road trip in my Z last October. I took it from NJ, 525 miles or so down the Blue Ridge Mountains to WV to jump of the New River Gorge Bridge. It was a great trip. I have very little chance to get any curvy mountain road driving in here, and that is half the fun of the car I think. Definitely a comfortable trip and the car did great!

Have a good ride!

PS. Take it into the Red Rocks Canyon loop road when you get to LV, and get some pics in front of Rainbow Mountain.
