Default Mounting Tire Pressure Sensors on New RIms

Hey All

For those of you who have a 350Z that is equiped with the TPS, and got new aftermarket rims, how did u get it on there if it doesnt properly fit the rims? I searched the forum and i saw that some of you strapped it down with the metal chain, which is probably the best idea .... But does anyone know if local shops are capable of doing this? If so, particuarly anyone in North florida? I called half a dozen tire shops, and they all weren't really familar with this ... (tire discounts, NRG Racing, etc.. shops) ...

I love these DTM Kreuz 10 Rims ... but i dont want to be parted from my TPS sensors ...So... If anyone has any suggestions or know where it could be done that would be awesome and much appreciated !..

Are you certain that the TPS will not fit the new rims?

I took BZNYA's thread on the subject (with Jak's modification) to Discount Tire. I already had all the parts necessary, but they read the thread and installed them just like the instructions said. They seem to work great.

Take the thread to several shops and get quotes. The installation isn't that hard to do....just takes some time.

Jason,

Is it possible to buy 4 new TPS? What is the cost? I was thinking of leaving my stock tires w/TPS and buying for new sensors w/the new rims?

I ran across these on a web-site somewhere recently, and they were $234 each. Then of course you have to take them to the dealership and have them "keyed" to your car. All said and done, you're probably looking at around 1G to buy an additional set....Ouch.

Thanks Kcobean. I guess I will have to wait to see if anyone is selling them off of their vehicles. I've seen people selling them as sets for $300 but wanted new ones. I guess used will have to do.
