Comments on exhaust note from FreshAlloy.com
A post from FreshAlloy.com by TheZMan: Some interesting comments on exhaust note.
"Today I had lunch with a good friend of mine from NMC that I had worked with years ago when I worked for NMC. After lunch was able to check out the new Z. It looks great, and it is sure tempting for me (though I just now payed off my 96 300Z TT). I do believe those of you that have and will order one will be pleased. I was happy to know that it has 3 cup holders (Z owners of my generation can appreciate that) though two are not good during driving because they are in the center console. There is a lot of little cool gadgets. There is a nice big sub behind the driver. The highlight was the sound of the exhaust. It had the deep throated sound that is reminiscent of American muscle cars. The pipes were clearly tuned carefully and precisely. All in all it looks great. Saw an orange, blue, maroon, and silver (forget the true paint names). I thought the blue and silver were sharp. Not to big on orange though and the maroon I think needed to be lighter (too dark for my taste). Lot's of cool gizmos and gadgets. There wasn't time to drive one but I understand from my friend who has drive the Z32 and the new Z, the new Z actually handles even better than it's previous generation. I asked if that was true even of the Zs that had the Super HICAS and that was confirmed. Naturally, my friend did not tell me anything that was still not disclosed so don't ask me something of that nature. I respect his discretion and loyalty to his job. I don't think there is anything that I can add that you can't see in pictures or articles or Nissan's site except my reaction to see one in person. My final thoughts are that I was sad when the Z ended, but worried when it was to return. I worried that it would fall from a world class car to something to lower in class. While it is not the luxury world class sports car of the last generation it is an awesome sports car that if affordable like the original Z and I believe it is worth every penny and some. Z you later..."

Great description azmo. Thanks for your insight on the exhaust note. That is one thing we haven't really had a handle on until now. Can't wait to pull up next to a s2k and drown out that tinny Honda sound... Great work. People, check out that entire thread for more detail...

I didnt give the description. I just copyed the description from freshalloy.com and posted it on this forum. The description was given by TheZMan. We should thank TheZMan. I wish i was able to sit in the Z and hear the ehaust note, view the interior, and get a feel of the drivers seat. I would write a book on it.
Does the "nice big sub" only come with the 240W Bose system?
According to the nissandriven website, the performance model comes with a 160-Watt AM/FM/CD w/6 speakers. Should I assume 2 tweeters and 4 mid-low range speakers?
