Hey, I was wondering if it would be wise to tell the insurance company once I get my Z and start modding it, about any aftermarket parts I put on it, so in case anything happens to them, obviously they're insured and can be replaced. This would make the insurance go up a good bit (if not more) and that is fine. Is this wise or should I just keep my mouth shut and hope nothing happens to them? And also, do any of you have your aftermarket parts insured and is it worth it?, and those of you who don't, has anything happened to them and you wished you would have had it? Help would be greatly appreciated!
Depends on what you have for parts. For the most part, OEM is more expensive than aftermarket, so if you rims or stereo is stolen, you'll be doing alright without paying the higher insurance rate.
OEM 18" rim is 800-1000 a piece I think?
And BOSE... you don't even want to know.

I did the receipts thing on my Mustang GT. Someone ran into it and totaled it. I got half of what I paid for everything. They take into consideration depreciation values. I also got money for the tires I put on it.
dont bother your insurance company will only pay out if you cause the accident or it gets stolen, this may cost more over time than the replacement cost of parts esp if you have high ins. just keep receipts since in all likelyhood you will get run into more times than you hit something and make his company pay for it. and dont forget to factor in other things when they only give you half back, stuff like shipping and tax on the parts and their present market value, if higher now to replace than when you got it.
