Custom exhaust vs Pre-Fab
Anyone have any thoughts on having a shop build an exhaust for your car instead of ordering one from say Greddy? The shop I am talking to uses aluminized pipe and said that they could make the optimal bends in the pipe to mirror Greddy. There's is around 400 bucks (with 2 mufflers . .. forget the brand of muffler they are using) and the stainless still tips. Greddy's kit is around 900 bucks.
The only thing I can say is that generally brand name exhausts are tested with many changes made prior to final production.
A custom exhaust may fit well but there's no guarantee it'll produce a gain (may even make a loss) or sound good throughout the rev range.

also not likely they will have anywhere near as clean of welds. or such perfect fit.
tuned exhaust are just that, tested and retested till they are tuned.
if you wanna think about it like this, greddy went and did what they are going to do.
then they went back and fixed everything they didnt like. then they probably went back again. they went over and over fixing every little imperfection till it was perfect.
the shop gets one shot, if its not perfect, owell.
