actually that is really not that bad if it is a high quality cover. Once u have or deal with show cars then u get to see all the variations and prising out there and 200 although alot more then your average cover from your local parts store it not bad compaired to what is out there. This is of course assuming that it is of higher quality and performance then the avareage cover.... That I could not tell you untill I get mine... which will come with my car..

Default What kind of car cover would you recommend?

Unfortunately my driveway is not covered, so my car will be exposed to the outside elements. What kind of car cover would you recommend for ALL SEASONS? Some winters can bring on a lot of snow, then there are the winters where nothing much really happens at all. So this brings me back to an ALL season car cover. Should I get (2) different car covers? i.e., (1) for summer and (1) for winter. I've had nothing but good experiences with Big Sky car covers. They have a very nice fit, well made, light, and most importantly easy on and easy off. I'm thinking of getting the Noah* car cover from them.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
Cheers. -m

Slexis,

I am thinking about buying one from Courtesy. How is the material inside? Is it very soft? Please describe.

Well, I may have missed something in VQracer's post...I don't know if the cover by Nissan Courtesy is made of the material he suggests...but can tell you the cover you inquire about does NOT have a soft interior surface. However...the post by VQracer brings up good points, and the material that is used is a smooth vinyl type material which may have the characteristics he mentions. It does fit nicely, and seems to be of excellent quality. I have one on my new Z and it is out in the elements as we speak. Under a carport...but nonetheless...exposed! Put a good coat of wax on prior and made sure the surface was clean before storage....hope not to be disappointed come Spring!

Does it have a sleeve for the antenna or do you have to remove it?

Yes, the Nissan cover is made of the Weathershield material VQRacer spoke of (best stuff out there) and yes, it has a sleeve for the antenna. There is also a clear panel over the rear licence plate.

I have had onefor about 2 months now. I use it to cover the car while it is parked outside at work. The fit and quality of the cover is very good. I would recommend that you get a california duster and keep the car clean.

The cover is very light, meant to keep UV, moisture and dust off the car. It is not designed to keep snow and rain off the car, although I'm sure it will help.

There are pockets for the mirrors nd the antenna. It's a quality piece. Call the dealers in your area and price it over the phone. I found that several dealers offer discounts and thus the price fluctuates dealer to dealer. I ended up paying $130 for mine because of a special parts discount they were offering at the time, so shop around.

I too have Nissans cover. It will keep rain off and since we just had a ice storm it has kept the ice and snow off the car. I am very impressed with it. I would recomend it to one and all.

When i first got the cover, i was perplexed because i thought that the inside was supposed to be covered with some sort of supple cotton/polyester material. Instead, it's just smooth...reminds me of a nylon windbreaker.

Other than that, it's compact, fits good, and does the job of keeping the dust/sun off. I've washed mine twice in the washing machine.

Wonder how it's going to fit over my NISMO spoiler when I get one? Anyway....I don't think my dealer gives any discount for anything.....but I used the fake dollars I got with my purchase and didn't pay more than $100 anyway, so I'm not going to complain!

Default Nissan WeatherShield Car Cover cleaning

I have used the car cover daily for about 2-3 months now and lately I am getting a very light, fine white dusting on the car after I take it off. It must be time to clean the cover, but I can't find the cleaning instructions. There doesn't seem to be a cleaning instruction label either.

Can someone who has the cleaning instructions please respond!

There were some specific instructions on washing...I recall the sheet in the box said something about not using some kind of detergent (assume powder in case it all doesn't desolve and leaves abbrasives on the material?)

I will try and find it and post for you later this evening.

OK...I was off base. In a nutshell this is what it says:

Wash with powder type detergent WITHOUT BLEACH. Wash using "normal" or "permanent press" cycle in cold or warm water. Do NOT wash in HOT water!!! Run through two rinse cycles - it is important all detergent is removed.

Can be dried in most household dryers. Use the permanent press setting. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER!!!

There is more...but this is the essance of what is important.

THANKS!

Seems odd to put the plastic window into a washing machine ... and then the permanent press cycle in a dryer. Doesn't the permanent press cycle get hot?

thanks again for the info, I really appreciate it!
