Lifter tick noise. Repair needed??
just for an FYI before I begin, I went to 5w30 mobil 1 full syn (bosch oil filter) when my car hit 4000 miles.
This past weekend, I changed oil again with 5w30 mobil1 full syn (used mobil 1 oil filter) this time.
Even before this past weekend's oil change, I would get a lifter tick on startup. It would subside after a few seconds. It does it now during idle too when car is fully warmed up. Anyone else have this? My car still drives great....
This is the link I found that freaked me out

ps: One guy had his motor replaced due to this. Another guy on 350zmotoring had his car in service for a week to re-spec his lifters. This is not looking good
pps:
Would of used "search" but it is down. I posted it here to get the most responses

I own a miata, in addition to my Z. It's common to have lifter noise in the first couple of seconds, and sometimes at all. On miatas, it's not considered to be a serious problem, just a minor annoyance. I wouldn't worry about it much on your Z, either. My miata has almost 90K miles on it, and it run just fine.
