Does the Nav talk and give you directions, if so is it satellite driven plus DVD driven ?

Yes it talks. No, the map info is stored on the DVD dis k, then a bunch of satalites determine WHERE on that map you are, and how fast you moving ect. If you are considering it, I think its a very cool feature.
