helpful service department
So I went to my local dealer to see if some noise I'd been hearing from the front had been due to the tire feathering. I'd been pointed to the updated TSB by jreiter at the Hearst Castle meet this past weekend. While I was there, I pointed out the little squeaking/clicking/chirping noise I was hearing from the rear.
Gary, the service foreman, acknowledged that the noises were from, respectively, tire feathering, and degreasing of the axle/spline joint. Now, I have new front tires, and a well-greased joint where the rear axle meets the wheel.
So there ya go; if your local dealer is helpful, they'll go ahead and take care of the problem for you.
For Bay Area folks, the dealer I went to was Stevens Creek Nissan.
