Default Launching w/5AT

Is there a different procedure to launch with a 5AT than with any sort of MT car? If not, should I drop from N to D or N to the Manumatic? Thanks.

No, never drop it from N to D, it will mess up ur tranny. Just step on the brake and gas at the same time. Get the revs up to around 3k (i dont have an auto so i dont know exactly how much to rev up to) then release the brake.

I thought the Z's ECU cut power to the wheels if you tried to power-brake?

Powerbrake at 1500 to get the best launch. Going higher just makes you spin. I never removed my fuse and the ECU doesnt cut the power..

the ECU cuts the power when the brakes are pressed by limiting how high you can rev the engine. Try it, put the car in drive, get on the brake pedal hard, and floor it! It won't rev over about 3000 rpm. I tend to agree with JonsilvZ...anything over about 1500 will just get you spinning pretty badly.

You can power brake up to somewhere between 3000 and 3500 RPM. If you want to go higher than that, you'll need to disconnect the brake fuse.
