Default Trouble Free Z Owners?

I have ordered a new Touring Roadster due in June but I have been reading all the threads regarding the problems that many 350Z owners have had with their car and I am just a little concerned if I made the right decision. I would like to hear from owners who have already put some trouble free miles (say 12k or more) on their cars. I'm sure there must be many owners who have not experienced the things I have been reading about. Please speak up and make yourselves heard so I can put this worry from my mind.

I don`t have 12000 miles, about half way there, but I have a 2004.5 performance model.
I drive it like it ws meant to be driven, I don`t abuse it though.
Other than a replica Nismo wing, she`s stock.
I have had zero problems and could`nt be happier :-)

Don`t worry and enjoy the ride!

I have an '04 Track built 11/03 and I haven't had any problems yet, other than the giant chunck of metal that penetrated my left rear tire the other day. Can't hardly blame that on Nissan though ...You're gonna love your car, don't worry about the little stuff, it'll diminish the Z experience.

My Track was built the same month as kcobeans'. I read this forum for two months before I ordered my Z and three months while I was waiting for it to arrive. Back then there was major backlash about tire feathering from a bunch of people (myself included) as well as complaints about various rattles, bad tranny, and blah blah blah...

Well, now that I had my Z for a while I can say that looking back, having read all of those negitive posts about tires, bumpy ride, rattles, crappy stereo, etc. have caused me to totally focus on every minor detail of this car and when I noticed a rattle I naturally over reacted. This car does rattle but they are minor ones and only happen on certian roads. Plus, you can just use foam padding to silence everything if you are that picky. heh.

One major concern I had was with my tires. I thought they were going to feather but after 7,000 miles they are in good shape and are not showing any signs of feathering. The only problem I have had was with one annoying rattle which magically disapeard on it's own and hasn't come back. *knock on wood*

The only complaint people have made about the Z that I still stand by today is the crappy bose radio. Still, even then I must admit it sounds much better than the radio in my old civic and better than the stereo in my mon's camry I drove around the other day.

All the important things, (engine, tranny, brakes, electronics, etc) have been flawless. You will love the car. it's a blast to drive. The only thing I wish I could have done differently was to get a clear bra installed before I drove off my dealers lot.

Don't worry like I did. The car is great. Just enjoy it when you get it. Ahh... There is no better time than summer to get a new roadster. Congrats.

Just turned 16,000 miles yesterday afternoon crusing on Cape Cod...no problems whatsoever at this point. I have one undesirable paint chip I'll have to touch up, but that was bound to happen sometime.

You have a 2003 MY car that was built in Jan. '04? That's a neat trick

Somebody had to notice, right?

The only problem I've had has been my trunk. It is definitely not the rear hatch TSB that you've read about. My problems are very different from what everyone is experiencing, so I think mine is just a fluke occurence.

Yeah, I hate it when my trunk lid flies off the car at high speeds, too! Seriously though, what's up with your trunk?

My car is only a few months old, but I think I'm going to be heading for the strut replacement here soon....they're starting to make noise and won't lift the lid all the way anymore....

RELAX --buy the Z and enjoy it.

4,941 trouble free miles - 05/03 build date

NO feathering, NO grease, NO transmission problems.

I agree with Grommit, the radio is trash. -minor inconvenience
The ride is a boucy on certain pavements at certain speeds. But that is a minor design problem to me.
