Default Nismo shifter install.

Hey, just finished installing the black aluminum Nismo shifter and the Honda "element" antenna. I have to say, quite frankly, that the Nismo shifter installation instructions suck. Can anyone tell me if the conical shaped rubber "finisher" goes above or below the boot? I assume it goes above the boot to provide a transition from the shifter to the plastic ring inside the boot, so that's how I installed it. It looks really good this way, I think. The instructions do not clarify, in fact they show the shifter, the shaft, the finisher, all in order, but no boot.

Anyone know the proper order? Also, does the little brass ring inside the stock shifter get removed? I'm assuming so because after I had the new shifter installed, the brass ring rattled around inside of it. I saw a Nismo shifter on a car at the local dealership, and they left the finisher completely off, but they left the ring on, and I could hear it rattle.

Any input appreciated.

Hey man, do you live or work near Tyson's corner? I've seen a car exactly like yours driving down Rt.7 a couple of times, thought it might be you. Beautiful ride, mine should be here sometime soon.

I had the same problem. The brass ring goes away otherwise it rattles all the freakin' time!! Yes you installed it the right way. Have fun with it, I love mine!!! I wish I would have gotten the titanium one though with the metal disk on the top. All well.

Great...Thanks for the reply...I wanted the titanium shifter as well, but it's hard to justify $115 for a shifter...
