Was hit a week ago last Monday, parts came in this past Monday & released today. Bluegrass Autobody South here in Lexington did a great job! After being without it for 10 days, it's like getting my new Z all over again - YIPPEE!!

I've been without my Z for about 6 weeks or more now.

Waiting a damn hatch to be shipped from Japan....

Well the 2nd hatch actually....The first one was sent damaged and the shop sent it back.

Owned the car for 2 months, and drove it about 8 times and made 2 payments so far.

I WANT MY CAR BACK!

Sorry

Its good to see that at least someone's Z made it out of the shop in under a month....

Default Sorry to hear..........

about the delay in getting your 2nd hatch in. That is most definitely a long lonely time without your Z - I feel ashamed I was moaning about a couple weeks - ha! The bodyshop ordered in a rear quarter panel and rocker panel for mine & got the OEM parts from the West coast in 5 days - was pretty pleased with that, for sure! I had my Z for about 3 1/2 months when it got hit.

I was rear ended by an 18 wheeler....

http://www.geocities.com/clayfulks/350zWreck

Some damage pics there....

Since its geocities, and I was too lazy to resize the pics dont be too surprised if you get the dreaded out of space message....

Basically what happened was that I was on the interstate and in the center lane. A gravel truck of some kind came flying past me on my left, and it was spilling off rocks and dirt like crazy. The car in front of me hits its breaks, and I was hitting them too (to let the truck get on down the road, and to keep from rear ending the car in front of me). At this point I went from about 70 to about 60 to 65, then BOOM I look in my rearview and I see a big ol front bumper of a mac truck.

The 350z was mechanically fine. No alignment problems nothing but the body damage. The 18 wheeler had to get towed due to a busted radiator (go Z!).

So the shop got the other parts in about 2 weeks or so, and have been waiting on a good hatch for a month or about 3 weeks past the sending back of the damaged part.

I've been pretty patient about it all, but its gettin old not having a brand new car that I'm paying for....

Me too

The insurance guy, and the shop guys were all amazed at how well the Z stood up to an 80,000lb hit.

The speed difference was not all that much, but the car is "built like a tank under there"....

When I got out of my car to check the damage after the wreck, I was expecting a lot worse.
