Default 350z vs. G35c according to the Engineer

This is in the Nov Automobile Magazie review of the G35c.

"The main differences between the 350z and the G35c is balance. The driver sits closer to the front wheels in the Z, which is all sports car, whereas the G35, being a GT coupe, is like a carbon-frame tennis raquet, with perfect balance. The 350z is more like a metal raquet-very strong."-Kazutoshi Mizuno, cheif enineer for the 350z and G35c, developer of FM platform.

I read that too, It doesn't make any sense to me!!!

A carbon racket is much lighter (Z), has a bigger sweet spot, has a spring like effect on the ball-allowing the ball to travel faster (Z)

I don't really see the analogy, AT ALL

I was expecting more info, about the difference in suspension, accel, etc....I can't imagine talking to the actual engineer and only coming away with that dumb quote

Talking with a Nissan North America engineer before I bought the cars, I was told that the G35 Coupe was basically tuned almost the same way as the 350Z but because of its longer platform (Wheelbase) it was not as agile feeling but more planted down over bumpy roads.

I don't know about sitting closer to the front wheels. I guess you sit closer to the REAR wheels though because there's no back seat.

I can't think that sitting closer to the front wheels has ANY benifit .

I think it changes the feeling. My mother went from a Del Sol to a Mazda Protege5. She noticed that she sits closer to the front wheels, and it feels more responsive. The honda feels like your being pulled around. Maybe that's it???
