Where is the paint code number located on a 2004 Z?

I thought so but I cant find it. Is it by where is labled GB on the low right hand corner of the white sticker that has the VINNumber? I bought touch up paint and thought I have a Chrome Silver Z, but I have read some Z owners stating they have a 04 Z with Liquid Aluminum. The touch up paint looks a little bit darker on my paint on of the Z. Did Nissan come out with 04 Liquid Aluminum Zs?

 

There is also a silver plate with the paint code (and other info) or the passenger side of the firewall, right next to the Battery cover.

There is a definite difference between Chrome Silver, Liquid Aluminium and Silverstone paints so you have to make sure you get the right code. I've only recently started seeing dealers offering touch-up paint for the LA color even though it's been available on the '04 models since fall of '03. From what I remember reading, LA is a multi-step paint process so you probably won't get a great match from the touch-up.

 

yeah. i've got an LA. the touchup paint sucks. is your Z a touring? i think they only made 04 tourings in LA. don't quote me on that, though. did you save the sticker?
