Is it possible to alter the steering ratio to speed up the steering?

Sure, just get a new quicker steering rack, I got one 12.5:1 rack for my STi, stock was 15:1. I haven't found a place that has quick steering racks for the Z yet though, I want one too. Check with rev-lab.com, maybe they can help you.

Quicker steering response. If you've read professional reviews of the Z, many of them knock the Z for requiring too much effort to turn and handle. Several major magazines have dubbed the Z a musclecar compared to the more sporty RX-8.

I was just curious.

personally i think the z's steering is overboosted. i would be interested in a new steering column..
