I had started a thread about this a few weeks ago. The car's value has dropped immensely. I'd be lucky to sell my 2003 performance model with 5500 miles for 24,000(it cost me 33,800). I plan to sell it in 2 years, so hopefully the value will even itself out. The Z is a beautiful car and the depreciation borders on a criminal level. The G35 seems to be holding it's value pretty well, though. If Infiniti releases the GTR, I'll be buying that in 2006-7.

i find it pretty frustrating, ive put modifying it on hold, like a money pit. so far i havent experienced the problems alot of ppl seem to be talking about, tires, and im not impressed by the nissan service ppl . thanks for youre reply, wasnt sure if the area i was living in had to do with the bad resale value. blue book lists the car at 28000 which sounds nice, just not reality.

Difference is dealer offer and private offers.

I saw an 03 DB Track with 16K from a dealer for 32K
They prolly got the car as a trade in and the trade in value was likely 24ish.

Thats how dealerships make there money. Bluebook is high to private sales, dealer trade in is low. Dealers also have a bit more overhead then a private sale, hence the difference.

It's nothing person I am sure, just business.
