Default Have you been bribed?

I took my car in a while ago to get the tires replaced because of the tire roar/feathering. Then the dealership scratched my rims, not once but twice. But each time they repainted the rims. The second time the paint job was so horrible that even the service advisor went ahead and reordered replacement rims without even talking to me.

Time passed by and I just forgot about it since they eventually fixed everything up to it's prior condition. So I was just sitting here and I get a call from the dealership asking me how everything went. I said they messed up my car and had to reorder a set of rims. Then she mentioned that Nissan will be sending a survey and anything below Excellent was a failure in there eyes.

She then proceeded to tell me to bring in my survey as soon as I get it and they hook me up with a full tank of gas. I wanted to laugh so hard over the phone.

Has anyone else experienced this type of bribe from your dealership?

I have heard of others on this board recieving similar "exchanges"...

Honestly, gas is so expensive, I wouldn't mind a bribe like that right about now...

ive had it too, i dont really care about the survey remember that the service advisors get their bonuses off of that. and they have always gone out of their way to make me happy. now i have had a lot of problems with my car, but every time they fixed them no questions asked that in my eyes is excellent, its nissan that put the car together like sh!!, so i cant blame the service for it falling apart.

I guess "They made an offer I couldn't refuse".

I'll make sure I definitely have it on empty before getting a fillup.

Funny....I'm going back to the dealership for the THIRD TIME tomorrow for damage to my left rear wheel, and damage to the hatch area where they apparently drug the spare across the paint when putting it back, and get this.....This trip is not to fix the wheel, they told me that this trip is to have the service manager examine the damage and determine whether they are going to continue to try and repair it at their cost! I may very well be going to jail tomorrow depending on how this goes....Guess we'll see. They best not try to bribe me out of my survey. I will promptly pick up the phone and call NNA and report their behavior.

i just picked up my z 3 days ago, and when it was all said and done, the salesman told me about the same survey and said the same thing, he told me that if I bring it he would give me a free tank of gas and a free oil change, can't beat that,

what sucks though was that he really pissed me off at the beginning of the whole process but i guess he made up for it towards the end..
the deal breaker was definitely the "bribe"
excellent all the way down..

ANYTIME the work at the dealership is subpar, or someone there thinks it's easier to tell you something to get out of doing the work they're supposed to, ie TSBs, just mention that you can't fill out that survey with all excellents. They nearly always bend over backwards to help you then . The dealerships monthly allotments are affected by the surveys.

I had a dealer offer to cut me a better deal on the price of the car if I let him fill out the survey. I didn't say anything to him but I was thinking alright, now I know you can do better on the price and you are just holding out on me. Why don't you just give me the better price in the first place, make me happy, and earn your survey evaluation. I wasn't very impressed with his tactics so I decided to go to a different dealer.

I purchased the car from Browns Fairfax Nissan, but that's only because they had the car I wanted on the lot. I get it serviced at Browns Sterling Nissan (maybe not after tomorrow, though) because it's about 10 min. from my house.

Yup, this has happened to me BUT there are two reasons why i aint doing it...
1)The guy that sold us the car turned out to be a total d*ck! When we bought the car it had 3 scratches and he told us to just bring it in the same week and they'll take car of it. Yadda yadda yadda, took four weeks cause the a$$hole was trying to give us the run around. So i aint filling out the survey with any "nice" comments and...
2)Its a 40 minutes drive to the dealer from my house. So it totally isn't worth it since i'll waste about a 1/4 tank to and from in traffic and 2 hours out of my day between this and that. So no free gas for me.

I just purchased a Z and the salesman told me the same line. He also told me when I returned the survey with all excellent, I would get a full tank of gas. I did return the survey and he told me to pull around to the side, he was going to get the gas card and would go with me to fill her up. A few minutes later, he shows up and says: "Man, I am sorry but my manager told me we can't do this anymore. NNA found out about it and someone got fired over it. But you first oil change is on me." What's the difference??? Anyways, if the service sucks, they will definitly get a bad survey. If you mark a bad experience excellent, you are not helping yourself or others in the long run.

Hoping you forget about it, because the will use regular oil whereas you will want synthetic.

I havn't experienced any of the bribing you guys described but if I did it would make me wonder about their integrity. If they would do something like that to affect their ratings what else are they being deceptive about?

If you think about it then you have wonder where did they deceive me?
