Default Can you cancel the extended warranty?

I have not contacted Nissan yet. I wanted to see if anyone has canceled their extended warranty and gotten back their money first. That way if Nissan tells me they don't do that, I can argue with them. At the rate I am adding mods to my car, the extended warranty is going to be void anyway. I just want my $1780 back. Otherwise it is just like throwing it away. :icon10:

Yes. It should be fully-refundable, less a $35 processing fee, within 60 days of purchase. After that, it's still refundable, but not in full. It's outlined in the first few pages of the extended warranty booklet.

I hand-delivered a letter requesting this to my dealer. It took a while - about 7 weeks - but it was eventually fully refunded. Just keep checking your loan to see if it was credited - you might have to hound your dealer to move it along - or look for a check if you purchased outright!

That is correct, but I sent my letter straight to Nissan and the dealer was never involved, the only way you will see cash is if you did not finance the car, even if you paid for the warranty seprately (like I did) they will still refund to your loan first.

I went and saw the Finance guy at the dealer. took about 10 min.. They said I would get the money, but they credited my loan. Dealers never get it right.

I had mine refunded. I got the pro-rated amount back. Extended warraties make no sense. If you have to have one, you can get better one through sam's club or walmart. It is only an insurance policy.

Thanks for the info. I bought my car (financed most of it) in August of 2003. I guess getting some of it back is better than not getting anything back. Do you need to write a letter or can you call Nissan directly on the phone?
