The hp boost in the G35 is not an across the board boost. It's only available as part of the "Sport 6MT" package, according to the press release. So technically, the Z still has more power. 287 vs 280 for most, and 305 vs 295 for the "special" editions.

there are some pros and cons to getting an anniversary car. usually the anniversary cars signal a bigger change the next year. so if you have to always have the newest then i dunno if its a good i dea but if you are not intrested in that and want a special collectors car then its a good bet. but usually anniversaries involve special paint a few more horses, badges and maybe wheels. i just think if i got one it would be so close to what i already got that in a year or two when a change is made i would be sick.
take the 50th vette for example a special color . now look at the new C6! im not saying the 06 Z will be that different probably just a refresh with the 305hp across the board i would rather have that! now with that said im really excited to see the this thing! especially if its available in more than yellow

I'm not going to say that I don't believe this but it is REALLY hard to believe that this hasn't been mentioned ANYWHERE else but at this one dealership.
During the preorder days (early 02) we were always right on top of stuff like this months before anyone else ever knew about it. We always seemed to get the inside scoop from a "mole" somewhere. Maybe Bishop is just that guy in this case, but I am still skeptical.

I am guessing if the anniversary 350z is getting 305hp, most of that is from Nissan adding hp together, and not by dyno.. example: adding high-flow exhaust (10hp), adding high-flow filter (5hp), advance timing 1-2 degree (3hp), so total you get 18hp. that makes it 305hp..
most of us here has more hp than that already.. by doing the same math

the 2005 g35 changes were all over the net b4 they b ecame

theres no way they'll sell a z with less hp than the G. espec since the g changes are a Z tube and software tweaks.
I think we'll get the nismo package as the anniv. edt.
