I pre-ordered in March......expected delivery is October, then pushed to November, now "definatly mid-december" (saleswomen's exact quote)....got a call yesterday (saleswomen) that there are cars available for me....they had 4 different models, one of which is automatic...thing is, I cant afford more than a base right now and so I will continue to wait...my question is, if there are 4 that have been cancelled, then wouldnt that mean that I would move up the chain faster, whether they sell it to another preorder (which is good for me) or if they sell it themselves. that still counts as preorders filled right?
3 of these have been on the dealers lot for almost a month...what the hell are they doing??
Ramsey Nissan in NJ
ps- If you are pre-ordered or want one in the NJ/NY metro area, give them a call (I dont know why i am saying that cause I hate them but if you can get a Z and be happy, then its worth it)...also, let me know if your preordered at that dealership and you got the same call, thanks

The build order had nothing to do with the $$$ spent, nor the dealership's pull. The truth may never be fully known, but at this point you can definitely say the build order was NOT linear.
Orders were submitted in batches to the factory, they decided what order to build them in. Simple as that.
Was I pissed that people were getting their cars in August when I ordered in January? Sure. Do I care anymore now that I have my car? Couldn't care less.
Moral: hang in there. Once you get your car, you'll forget all about the pain of waiting.
