OFFICIAL 2005 Changes
This is good. Thanks a lot for the information Kyle. I am ordering the 350Z sometime, but my 16th birthday isn't until March, but I was wanting to get it earlier, so when would it be a good time to order it? I have heard 3 months before, so maybe December? Thanks again for the information and keep us updated. BTW, any clues as to what the anniversary edition will have? I would like to get that unless it will have something on the outside I wasn't looking for.
Easy fix to the question of what yellow...
is E33 the paint code for any other Nissan's? Pike's Peak White for the Z, for example, is the same paint code as Alpine White for the Pathfinder. Different name but the same paint. Is E33 the code for the SE-R or Xterra yellow? if not we know it is a new color all together.

It is NOT the same color as any yellow out right now.
As for ordering, I know nothing about a 35th Aniv. edition. However to order anything else, order at LEAST 90 days in advance. Orders go in the first week or so of the month. If a dealer doesn't get an allocation though, it would suck to have to wait 120 days, when you were only planning on waiting 90. Just because a customer orders something, the dealer can only order it if it has been allocated to them.

Im planning on going over to Nissan on Monday to order my '05. My question is, if they are upping the HP in the G35c to 295, what is the Z already squeezing out if they arent upping the power in it?
Assuming those are the changes... I feel elated that I got a 2004 Track with DVD Navigation... that will make the car more rare. And I don't feel bad that my car is just now arriving when the 2005's come out so soon b/c the 2005 changes don't really appeal to me. I would have still gotten SuperBlack. I'm changing my seats to Cobra Milanos anyway, and I won't drive the car in the winter so heated mirrors mean nothing! YEAH!!!!

i think the hp increase is for anniversary edition only. otherwise it wouldn't be all that special. prolly 2006 all Zs will get a hp bump though.

It really doesnt matter all that much, it'll have more HP than the G35 once it gets in my posetion anyway, but you'd think they would have more HP in their sports car than their luxury car.
Werent they released about the same time, or am I just forgetful?

Forget the Anniversary model BS...
if the 350Z is Nissan's sportscar, it needs to have the most power output in the line-up of Nissan/Infiniti (V8 luxo-barges and trucks excluded).
If the G35Coupe Sport 6MT is getting 295hp, the Z either needs to tie that or hit the big 300, otherwise there's yet another aspect where the G35C outdoes the true Nissan sportscar, the 350Z, which is silly.
More so since third model years generally get the first power increase - usually a 10-20hp bump - since second model years are used to fix any issues in the first model year. A third year without a performance change starts to get dull with our "gotta be better or the hell with it" society which needs to see enough improvements or they'll simply buy a used Z to save the big hit first year depreciation and sales of MY05s will be weaker. Oh well, Nissan's loss.

it doesn't really bother me that the $32k g35 6mt coupe has more hp than a $28k enthusiast Z. i think all track models should get the bump to 305 though, not just 2000 special editions.
