300ZX in 4 seats?? Why not 350Z?
I thought Zs were always 2 seaters until I saw this stock Z in my apt that had 4 seats. It made me wonder why the 350Z is not a four seater. THE G35 SC doesn't count since I want looks and performance of the 350Z. I want a 350Z with 4 seats!!

the two back seats of the 90's sports cars were huge jokes, they were meant to save insurance money (these were heavily turbocharged RWD cars...insurance hell), you can't really fit anybody back there over the age of 3.

It would probably kill the look of the car. I can't imagine a stretched out 350z.

nissan also probably figured that if they made a 2+2 350z it would eat heavily into the sales of the g35c.

I do agree, a 2+2 Z33 would look too stretched out. I hope they never make it.
while searching for my son's 300ZX, we tested a 2+2. Not happening. I think the car looks ok, but it begins to feel too much like a sedan and less like a sports car. 2 seater is the way to go. I love my 350Z with 2 seats and would never, ever, purchase a 2+2. my 2c

The other day I saw a lady had a kid in the back of a Lexus 430 with the top up. I didn't know you could really fit a small kid back there! Then again there is always an RX-8 with the extra doors too. When Mazda made the RX-8 there were planning on the people who had the RX-7 in the 90's now married with kids to buy these RX-8s. Guess that didn't happen?

Furthemore, the 2+2, although heavier, is better balanced on the road track because of it's longer wheelbase.
Nonetheless, to answer the original question why no 350z 2+2... it's the same reason why the 350z doesn't have t-tops or a sunroof: the original 240z never had those options. However, the G35 coupe is supposed to fill that void.
Michael.
I doubt Nissan will even make the 350Z a four seater or else it would look like a G35 coupe with a Nissan emblem on it.
Back in 2002 when I found out Nissan was making another Z car I was relieved that it wasn't a four seater or even 4 cylinder too.
