Thanks VandyZ. Unfortunately 22" wont go on the 350Z. I need to contact the person who is auctioning the wheels and ask him where he got it from.

Thanks again.

Thumbs down

Zboy,

IMHO please don't put that kind of crap (again, my opinion) on such a beautiful car. That is, unless you are a very successful pimp. Then, I guess it's OK, cause with pimps, the louder it is, the better it is, I guess.

Actually, I wanted to see what it would look like. I am against anything ricey or pimpy on my car but lets say the outer part of the wheel is very similar in design to the Rays wheels, except that it has another smaller rim rotating on the inside. Would the effect look nice or not on the Z? Why is that sorta setup regarded as pimp? Just curious.

Cool

IMO, I thought something so elaborate takes away from the simple, yey classic, lines of the Z. Certainly not trying to flame your taste.

VQ, I am talking about a 18" wheel with this setup.

The smallest I have ever seen these is in a 20" wheel size. I would never put these on a car, but they are cool on a sport ute. I saw a Caddy EXT with these "spinners" or whatever on them at a red light. I kept thinking to myself "is that guy going to stop." He was not moving! I now expect every tricked out SUV to have them and when they don’t I am disappointed.

I have to say that's a pretty cool idea. It's definitely different from the average chrome job.

HOWEVER, it's not the right thing for a Z.

Hey Zboy,
They sell it at Spreewell Racing here in SoCal but i think it costs like mucho bucks (on MTV Cribs they said it was $10,000 but I think those had gold on it too so...) I know Spreewell Racing has a website by the same name but I don't think its up and running yet so just FYI

I've seen these on a couple of cars in the DC metro area. Asked a guy once and they are $2500 per wheel. Too much for my blood. I do plan on finding something around 4-500 per deepdish 19 inch chromes though. I hope no one takes offense to this but I'm a brother and thats just what we do. It's not trying to be a pimp or anything like that. It's apart of our heritage.... Nice wheels have been in my family as far back as I can remember. You may laugh but its true. You may flame him for wanting to get those but thats his choice and maybe when you see them on the Z it just may look nice. Who knows....

Hey, man, don't take this the wrong way. I think I know what you're trying to say. BUT, you can't say that's our heritage?!?! That is the biggest stereotype if I ever heard one. Comments like that lead and fulfill ignorant stereotypes by others outside of our ethnicity. You might as well say we all love fried chicken and watermelon.

At the same time there are a lot of brothers that have those thousand dollar 20 plus rims with a phat ride, but yet live in a cramped rundown 2 bedroom apartment with their wife and 4 kids. To me that's livin' ***** rich (see "Boiler Room.") What ever happened to priorities?

Hey, I like a car that looks good if the owner doesn't over do the chromed out look. Then there are others that are just too damn gawdy. To each his own, I guess.

If I offended you or anyone else, oh well. I'm sure someone will post their thoughts.

I just do not want to be stereotyped. Like we were and still are for the past 4 centuries.

Blacknight...Believe me I feel your pain but I gotta let you know where I'm coming from. I don't want to get so far off subject that we forget what we're supposed to be talking about (too late), but I gotta say this. I grew up in Mississippi and I know more about being stereotyped than the next man. Maybe the heritage comment was a little strong but maybe you misunderstood. My comment was definantly not about Watermelon and Chicken which by the way I do love. You don't? Its about how I feel most of my people get down with their vehicles (the look the feel) etc. If you haven't seen it around excuse me but I'm sure you have. Everyone on this board has. Though I'm not one of those brothers who's gone out and bought a ride before I bought a house I do understand that statement, but truthfully that is just another way of telling you what my people think about their cars. Its important to them. Personalization of our vehicles is more than a hobby....we mean business. Now if I were to say all white guys just want to mod their cars to get more horses...throw on lightweight rims and love to race, believe me it would be wrong of me in there eye but would you say its true. If you read these boards you would agree. Anyway I'm just trying to make a point so guys please take it easy. Blacknight and I are buddies and we'll probably see each other on the Beltway.

B-night...Maybe we can get together when we get our Z's...I live in Upper Marlboro. Maybe we can meet at Dave & Busters and talk some more.

I'm not getting the Z yet. I'm in the works on getting a house 1st like I stated above. Hopefully, before the year is out I'll be in one. Cost of housing in Montgomery County is no joke. Unfortunately, town homes are starting at 275K and up. Anyway, I do hope to land a performance package Le Mans Sunset before the year is out.

BTW, I grew up in Upper Marlboro and went to Largo High.
