How often do you think I should take the "back way", which is about 10 miles? I want to keep the miles low, but also want to make sure the car warms up adequately.
BTW, I can't warm it up by racing it on the short road, it's only a 40/30/25 mph drive!

It will pretty much depend on the day. I work in outside sales, so if I am making a call in an "iffy" neighborhood in Chicago I'll drive my Subaru Outback. If I am making a call out in the rolling hills of Wisconsin, I'll be taking the Z for sure. Also, if there is even a 1% chance of snow, the Z is staying in the garage.
I've lived my whole life in cold weather (born in NY, grew up in NJ and now live in Chicago). I'm really getting sick of it and one of these days I'm moving somewhere warm.
Dallas and Austin are on my short list.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to drive it in the snow. Not that the winters here in Connecticut are all that bad. I have to say, I don't have a lot of experience driving a RWD car in the snow. I know I slip plenty in my FWD Accord and I remember once riding with a friend in his old RWD 240Z and not being able to climb a 5 degree slope because of wheel slip.
But then again, I see plenty of BMWs, etc out during the winter.
Hmmm, maybe snow tires are in the future..

It's like walking the dog, gotta do it at least once every day. I'm not going to clean up after it though, if people drool or poop their britches... well, it's their own fault for being so impressed.
Anyone else think insurance ought to be cheaper on a two seater? Less room for people to fit == less lives at risk.
now all I need is a Mini-Me driving a Mini-Z.

Taking the train to work these days..won't leave it in the parking lot at the station...no problem leaving the Explorer..I also ride a Harley most weekends but think I'll be giving the bike a rest...looking forward to some long trips through the desert and up and down the coast
My Z is going to be my toy so it will only be used when the weather is just right. I can drive one of my other cars to an from work during shitty weather and my VW is my race car, so only on that special sunday for me

It'll be tough to decide on sunny days since the Jeep's top can go down and I love the feel of driving a short wheel base Wrangler.
I think that I'll love the Z and the Jeep equally and try to give both of them the same amount of attention.
