Default Pioneer XM flushmount radio tip

In addition to tips posted by Ft. Lauderdale (thanks!) - I want to add a few things. If you don't want to heat and bend the XM mount but still want to install below the ventilation ***** but in front of the shifter, install foam tape you can get at Walmart

This is a closer but out of focus view - I trimmed the corners after this so they won't stick out after installation and advise you do the same

This foam is the exact color of the dash and will fill the gap caused by the curvature of the dash.

A few other tips - begin removal by prying up on the panel just to the rear of the shifter that bisects the console at 90 degrees. (if it wasn't for Ft Lauderdale I'd never found it - thanks again)

Non-nav owners open the nav door and the "floor" is just a rubber mat that lifts up and exposes 2 screws that you must remove along witht the plastic piece. The rest of the screws are easy to see.

Connect the yellow "unswitched" wire to the yellow wire on the back of the existing radio. Connect the "switched" red wire to the lime/pink wire at the radio (I have the touring)

The radio sounds VERY good even with the Bose though I haven't tested it on the road. I live in e the country and I get excellant reception.

The deal is about $15 for activation and about $10/ month for the rest of your life but it is well worth it. I won't be listening to regular radio again.

For the nav owners, the nav control panel just pops out, held in place by clips on each end, no screws.
