Nope, not anytime soon. I bought headers anyways and I don't want to fully void my engine warranty just yet (it's going to expire 3/25/06).

Edit: What's the group buy price?!

HEY I will be 21 on 3/21!

I can't wait until mine expires.. I would still have 34,000 miles left to drive..

<~~~~~IMPATIENT

also, it doesn't "techinically" void our warranty, they have to PROVE that is was the mods fault, if you go to a mod friendly dealer it helps. I know a guy that had ATI and his rod snapped, they proved that is wasn't ATI kits fault because they are weak and it was already stretching at stock numbers or whatever... I don't remember the whole story just that well, he didn't have to pay for the new engine.. I don't understand that stuff,

Hold on a sec? A rod snapped and they replaced it under warranty?! What dealer is that! Last I heard was that our rods were forged, but now I'm starting to doubt that.

Anyways, I have only 5,300 miles and until March 06 left on my warranty so putting miles won't end my warranty Is the F/I forum a group buy or just seeing who's going to do it? I know MRC out in the Northeast is selling them for $7,500...(is that a good price?) I also might buy a 240Z as a secondary car instead of F/I because I don't have another car if mine is in the shop.

well, trying to do a group buy.

7,500 is the price everyone is selling em at, 7495. I have called 10 diff. dealers on the APS website and it is the same price. The only difference is where you plan to install..

some stores say they will give you good deal on the install because it is a new kit and all that, but I have ran across one that quoted 3,000-3,500( WOW) for install while others in the range of the normal installation 1,500 or less...

get FI!!

I know what you mean about dealer incentives for installation. MRC also offered a "very good" installation price, but I didn't inquire further. I'd probably want to install it myself since I find that kind of thing fun. $7,500 cash is also a problem...the difference to me between finance and cash is "can do" and "cannot."

well with this group buy, if it happens, putting up only half, then when it comes in(APS starts shipping sept 4) pay the rest when it comes in...
hmm, get a personal loan?

By the end of the year i plan to have these simple mods (please keep in mind that my funds arent too big at the moment):

1)Popcharger (in the mail)
2)Tints (next week)
3)18" Stock Perf/Touring Rims
4)Powdercoating them Gunmetal...

When those things are done, i'll make a new "to do" list for next year.

my to do list is long and unaffordable for me now.
if anyone has some extra funds available and would like to donate it to the help Rajiv mod his car fund you can pm me and i'll send you paypal info

I've actually got a decent amount of money saved up solely for spending it on mods but i can't decide what i want to do with it first. what would you do with $2k? i was thinking new springs, but then maybe i want coilovers later? maybe new wheels (le37t gunmetal or RH J8 gunmetal or ssr gt7 dark silver) and i could sell my track wheels? maybe body kit? it would be nice if i could just do it all at once! but till i can help me spend the money i have now!

Rajiv

hmm, I would do wheels, but you might need a little more money, but if you can wait and save up more $$$ without getting the urge to spend it, save untill it is turbo time

im sure i could get the wheels with the money i've got and adding the money from selling my wheels. working at a car audio shop has helped with getting some good prices on all car things, but i still don't know if i could get myself to blow everything i've got in one place. is it worth it? i need someone to convince me. i know i really want new wheels but it's hard to part with all the money.

as for f/i that's going to have to wait a couple years, or maybe longer. i'd like to wait till the warranty is up (had my car for 1 and a half years, so another 1 and a half to go) and when ive got like around 10 grand. being young and a student, and now paying insurance (which is rediculous) 10 grand is going to take a while.

Ah, I'm prolly the most nerdy of you guys. I've actually divided my mods into phases, listing both projected HP/TQ gains, as well as weight savings. Believe it or not, I actually have a specific dyno curve in mind.

I want to get to 380whp, and 360wtq, and get weight down to 3000lbs, while increasing comfort and 'cruisability' and durability. Very hard. Especially when you consider I wish to preserve V8 torque curve (so, no centrifugal superchargers for example).

Things like Tilton clutch/FW setup, Stillen SC, LW battery, LW wheels, Racing seats, LW seat mounts, Nitrous (25HP) shot... I got them all listed, with weights, projected gains/loses. Scary .

For some reason everytime I log on to this forum my list changes, I don't know why???
Since my front bumber was hit a couple of months ago I definately want to change that first. I've been wanting the V3 kit for a while but I can't put a body kit on without wheels so I guess that needs to go on first. I've been following the APS set up also and DAMN, that's nice.

Default Planned mods

Wheels (19")
Tinting
Lighting overlays
Z badges
Clear corners
Grill replacement
Complete stereo upgrade
Dash kit
Nismo wing
Front lip/side skirts
Exhaust
Intake

As you can probably tell, I am very much about smaller mods to personalize the car--nothing too extreme.

well i shortened my mod list a little bit today. i went ahead and ordered a set of hotchkies springs and kinetix resonated test pipes.
i have lots of mods that i want to do but no specific order, which isn't a good thing because i can never decide what i want to spend the money i've saved on when i have it.

phatmitzu, hmmm good plan!
although i think me being the girl driver it will be easier to make guys go WOW considering more guys know about cars than girls do...

Lance G33, you talk about smaller mods, i don't know if you read all of my list but I actually am planning on getting Z license plate holders( they screw in the Z license plate) and also, Z logo valve stem caps for cryin out loud! I know what you mean about the small mods though, they always add a nice tough to the car...

BluedragonZ, My list always changes or grows from being on here! I'm right there with ya!

Bascelik, goals are always reached faster and easier when You have a plan written out to such small detail... it's a great idea, but my list changes so much that if I did it like you, I would spend even longer on it... and it isn't like I don't already!

Hopefully if I stick to my financial plans, I'm completely out of debt by the end of this year and I should be able to get my mods underway. Of course that means that I will have NEW debts.

just finished one of my "to do" on monday. took it to the dealer to get rid of an annoying squeek coming from the rear suspension.

my next "to do" is install my Hotchkis sways sitting in my room. i can't wait to hit the twisties w/ them on.

after that a Nismo exhaust would be nice!!!!
