Default One-upping the neighbors?

So, here's a funny little story. I got my Z back in the fall of last year. Everyone stared at it as they drove through the neighborhood. Soon afterwards, the DINKs up the street pull up in a blue ZR. I suppose they had to try to keep up.

Now, almost a year later, one of my friends is staying with me for a couple weeks. He has a red C5 that we park in the driveway. Now, a week after he gets here, the neighbors (different ones) across the street pull up in a new C5 Z06. Trying to keep up again.

Little do they know the C5 is supercharged and putting down 474.9 HP at the wheels and the Z has 150 lbs taken out of it with a 100 shot. hehehehehehe... heh

Well, there are a good many locally. I see one about every 3rd trip out. Modern Nissan (on University) is a pretty good dealer, but there isn't a lot of young money here like in Texas or California. Going to Wake then?

Well, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. And it's not really removed, but replaced. And a passenger could never tell what I changed (well, it's louder), and there are plans for at least another 110-150 lbs more off.

Stock catback is 40 lbs. Spare and tools are 40.

That's some of it though. (Not the cat-back part being off though)

I see 350Zs around 2 or 3 times a week. I drive a Black 350 and work near Modern Nissan. Enjoy going to school at Wake.

That's a great idea. It sure would be interesting!

Ok, the whole exhaust system behind the headers is right at 88 lbs. The y-pipe attached to the cats is about 46 lbs. All the other bolts + mid-pipe + rear section is the other 42.

You could strip out a lot of weight by removing the engine, teehee!

You need to buddy up with the gentleman in Greensboro (Bob Rapp) with the yellow Enzo and invite him and his car up one week- end for a cook out.

You're not alone. I was the very first one in my town with a 350Z. Two weeks later, a DB Z shows up. Almost a year later, now there's a PPW Z, another Redline ( ), and a Silverstone. Oh well, time for some mods

Haha it was the exact same way a few years ago when I bought my RX7. There were like 3 in town when I bought it and now there have to be 10+. I still have to pride myself on mine being the fastest before I sold it 430 bhp and 2740 lbs.
