Default Need Assistance - Center Console/Headunit Removal

To those of you that have installed the Farenheit screens and/or DVD players in the NAV space:

1) How did you actually install the screen into the NAV space? What specifically do you have to do to run the wiring so that it's concealed behind the trim panels?

2) For the person that installed the Soundstorm unit - where did you mount the FM Modulator? Is there a good place to do this under all the plastic somewhere?

3) How difficult is it to remove the center console for routing wiring underneath?

If anybody has done these items, I would greatly appreciate some additional details beyond what has already been said. I know that SubwOOer and others have installed the screens - I just need a little help on the panels to make sure I don't break them.

As always, points will be awarded for helpful responses via the rating system.

assuming you have a manual trans, stick your hand under the front center console piece at the rear of the shift boot. This does not require removing the boot, just put your fingers on the boot, and wrap them under the trailing edge and pop it up. When you do, the heater controls will have to be detached, their is a simple ribbon cable with a connector to remove. Twist the console out of the way, but leave it on the gearshift.

For the rest of the console, their are two screws in the back sides, two in the front sides and one in the middle of the console. Remove them and it comes right out.

For the stereo/nav/gauge cluster, I believe there are two screws under a rubber mat at the bottom of the nav compartment (I have nav, so its a pop-out panel instead), remove them, then remove the 2 screws holding the head unit in at the top, accessed through that hole.

then remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the panel, plus 4 screws holding the panel and the white box that has the heater unit in it at the bottom towards the fire-wall. pull from the bottom and slide out at top, then disconnect the 2 cables at the top and its out.

If you don't have nav remove the rubber floor of the nav compartment and you'll see 2 screws - remove these and the plastic part the screws hold down - you'll now see more screws
that have to be removed.

Default Thanks to All!

To make things easier (and reduce duplicate posts), I found some recently posted information on another thread:

The Thread - Removal of the Center Consoles

I've given each of you that posted for me points via ratings. I really appreciate your help.
