Default Need help with my launch

I am going to the track next Wed. to time my car. Can anyone help me out with my launch? How much do I rev to with my stock tires. The last 1/4 mile time was a 14.6 stock. I rev up to 3300 RPM and I peeled out like a b*tch! Should I lower it to 2000 RPM or wut? I am lookin to at least get a 14.2 or maybe even lower stock.

I personally do 3000 RPM and (I dont know this may sound weird) semi-drop the clutch... I dont pop the clutch, but I just let it out fast.... I dont know if you understand... I have found that 3500 RPM is too much, I peel out at 3500. 3000 is perfect for me, I get very little IF any tire spin

Good thread...I would love to hear people's opinion on how to get the most out of your Z shifting wise.......

Launch at what RPM.....shift from gear to gear at what RPM....?

I feel I get the best launch from keeping the clutch just barely engaged before the light goes, then just giving it full throttle and pulling the clutch out quickly (not dumping it tho). I havn't tested this out on the 1/4 tho...

I rev it to 6200rpm, launch it in reverse and let the expletives fly.

the stock clutch slipps a little, but this all depends on the surface and "stickyness" of the 1/4th strip that your at. if its sticky enough you could do a slight clutch feed at 6krpms and not spin the tires. ive also been to tracks that you could do 2krpm and slip clutch real good and still spin.
