Default Irresponsible Neighbor

So I live in small 10-unit apartment complex where everyone parks in a common underground garage. As I get in my car to go to work yesterday morning I notice that there is a patch of blue paint and minor scuffing on my rear drivers-side fender. I ALWAYS take a brief walk around my Z whenever I park it to look to see whether there's any dents from parking, dirt spots to clean later, etc. So it's very obvious to me that the blue paint/scuffing was from my neighbor who parks to the left of me. He/She always tends to park a little crooked and I can see how it would be easy to barely scrape the side of the Z as it looks narrower up-top (from someone's mirrors) than it really is since the fenders flare.

So I proceeded to take pictures from every angle before using some wax and cleaning agent to buff it out. The only remaining blemish is a paint chip similar to the ones I keep getting on the front bumper from rocks.

I've contacted the building management to find out which apartment parks in the space to the left of me but I'm assuming that if he/she was not responsible enough to leave a courtesy note to a neighbor initially that he/she will simply deny bumping my car in the first place.

So the question to you guys is, how far should I go with this? Should I even bother talking to this person since there's basically no remaining damage? It's also very apparent that they knew that they bumped the car as the blue/green Tercel that did this has mysteriously disappeared and didn't park in the space last nite. It just makes me so mad that people can be so irresponsible!

I'm with DrilZ. A neighbor is a difficult thing to get rid of, so choose wisely how you interact with them. Escalation will always come back to you and your car.

I'd just politely approach them with the fact that you found some paint on your car that matched their color. Let them know that it cleaned up fine and you're not seeking a 'claim', but that you'd like them to be careful (and honest) parking next to your car.

If they have a problem with that, then kick 'em in the crotch and swear to kill them and their family if they ever touch your car again. (ok, maybe not this last part....)

Thats the wise thing to do, but i dont think i could be calm enough to do it.

If they deny it. Invite a friend over with a POS car and leave a bigger dent on their car.
