Default Wishing for my Z....

Headed out to Banning, CA to see a client. His ranch was up at the top of the mountains on US Hwy 243 - Two lanes, twisties. Not a road for rackless speed, but one great for a car with precision handling.

On the way up the mountain, it was day light and it was a fun drive. However, on the way down, it was about 7 PM and pitch black. Even tho I had HIDs on my Acura TL, I couldn't look ahead far to plan for the next turn. Just enough tension to make me grip the steering wheel just ever so slightly tighter. It has been a long time since I have had a chance to drive on a narrow twisting road at night. I had forgotten the surrealistic feel of limited vision, ever so slightly more focused in by the head lights and the feel of G-forces on the body. The mind focused on tackling the next turn....my left hand steered, while my right arm flicked back and forth between the wheel and the shifter. My right foot alternated between pressing down on the accelerator and pumping the break pedal as I entered into the next turn..... The coordinated motion, the focus and the utter concentration. Aaah! If only I had my Z......it would be a prefect end to a long day.

You're putting this in a book you're writing. Right?

P.S. - A lot of us are wishing for a Z....
