Default Laying down Some Rubber?

This question may sound silly, but I can't for the life of me lay a decent patch (I'm talkin straight on) in my 6mt Z.

What gives? I either hook up completely in 1st, and just take off like mad, or I slip the clutch out fast and get nothing but annoying wheel hop.

Conditions:
1st gear
VDC off
From a dead stop, quick clutch drop at like 2500 (never higher) = wheel hop
From a slow roll, clutch engauged fully = no peel
Pedal to floor in both cases

Car may be squealing, but I can't hear it over my JWT anyway lol

I had the opposite problem. I was in an AutoX and trying not to spin the tires.

Rev it to about 3500 and let the clutch out rather quickly, not dump it. Once they start to spin go full throttle.

What exactly is the point of "laying down a patch"??

Your suspension is not setup from the factory to be a drag racing rubber laying hotrod.
