Default My 350Z is here! Also, question about Signature Graduate program

Finally, after half a year of waiting (I know some of you waited longer, but to me it seemed like years) my car is at the dealership lot. Everything is going along as planned: no front license bracket, no additional options other than what I had ordered, and it will only be driven to make sure everything is in good working order, and to fill it up with premium gas.

The only concern I have is the financing. I have applied to PeopleFirst, and I was denied due to a outstanding ding I have from a claims office. However, I noticed that on my credit report about a month ago, and it was an error on the claim office's accord. I have talked to them since then, and they have admitted the error and have submitted a cancellation to the credit reporting agencies to have it deleted from my records. I called Peoplefirst and let them know of this, and that besides this 1 error, my credit is PRISTINE. The claim office told me they can FAX anyone that needs it, a letter saying that it was an error and it is in the process of getting deleted from my records (signed by the supervisor). However, online banks like Peoplefirst are more careful, and said that they needed to see it reflect on my credit report... which will not happen for about 3 more weeks.

So now the only option for financing is the dealership, since they will accept the proof letter from the claim office, and judge my credit accordingly. One good thing with this is that I qualify for the SignatureGraduate program. For those that are not familiar with it, here is the link: SignatureGraduate Program

Has anyone done this? If so, please let me know how it went!

Sorry so long... but I am happy my car is here.

That must have been a huge "ding". Anyways, I think that PeopleFirst is BSing you. I have several dings on my credit report(4 to be exact) and I still got approved by them and every place I apply to. My credit score is between 7 and 8 hundred for all three credit agencies with the four past dues. I think you should look elsewhere for a loan if PF is giving you a hard time.

The SigGrad program is just a special APR. I do not know exaclty what it is, but usually these programs have a higher APR than a regular loan because they are geared towards those with little or no credit. That is why you prove you are a responsible person by proving you have just received a degree versus proving it with a credit history. I personally would go the regular loan route. But I could be wrong and it could have a really low rate. Anyways, I think I read on this board that PF had rates in the upper 4% to low 5%. Also check Costco or your local bank/credit union.

Well, my credit is clean, besides that mistake... but I am young and don't have an extensive record.

I've heard of others around my age group with credit scores over 700, that couldn't get financed through PeopleFirst.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but SignatureGraduate is NOT available for the 350Z. I checked.

You are incorrect.

I just called my dealer, and NNA consumer affairs. The GRADCASH is not available, but the special financing is.

The way my dealer explained it to me is this: The special credit rating benefit is that it automatically counts me in as being in the top tier credit rating.

I suppose I stand corrected. I was told by both NNA and dealer that I did not qualify for SignatureGraduate programs of any type, even though my credit rating on the street qualified me for rates in the low 5%'s.

I had based my statement on my experience. Sorry if I misled.

Also, as a fellow CM, I know you've waited a long time for your Z. Congratulations, and sorry if I was abrupt in my response.
