Yes, I finally got my VIN yesterday

I just searched for the definitive answer on why some VINs have a 1, while others have a 0 as the 12th digit, and I didn't find an explanation. The only thing I vaguely remember is someone speculated that there are 2 assembly lines, and this digit represents which line. BS or for real? but

Almost forgot, I have a 1 (not the "i" I sent to the soup ).

 

I am not sure where I saw it but I thought the difference was due to side air bags or no side air bags, if it helps mine has a 0 and has airbags.

 

Thanks Westpak, but I just found a note on a piece of scrap paper, and I think that discussion was of the 8th digit, i.e., an "E' or a "D" referencing the air bag......I have a "D", and no air bag.

I should qualify.....I originally ordered no side air bag, my "Black Envelope" / confirmation had the side bags added, and I had the dealer remove them. So. I'll see when it gets here....SOON!

 

I found where I saw it, it was on zcar.com and zisme confirmed that the 0 vs 1 was the airbags.

Yes, ZISME and another nissan insider confirmed that 0 designated with airbags and 1 without.

Been doing a bunch of searches, I couldn't find ZISME's post on the other side......I couldn't even find the discussion of the 8th digit. Great to read that I'm not getting the bags! Hopefully no "splash guards" either.
